I don't want Wade to have to change for Zoe either. That to me would defeat the purpose of any kind of character development for her. Everyone knows Zoe always felt like she would end up with the Harvard type/lawyer man well here she is she fell for a country boy who is rugged, adventurous, and care-free. I want Zoe to come to terms with the fact that she is in love with Wade and while he may not be the guy she ever pictured herself falling for she did.

I don't think Wade had to change for Zoe to fall in love with him. Otherwise she wouldn't be in love with him. But part of hm does have to change for them to be together. Because of the way he was he threw things away because he lacked the confidence to be with her. So for the good of their relationship he needs to gain that self confidence so that he doesn't continue down the same path.

Exactly. She needs to remember why she fell in love with him in the first place as well!

Yes, Wade did not need to change for Zoe to fall in love with him but he did need to mature and evolve.

I think that until Zoe came into Wade's life, he was fairly comfortable using sex as a band-aid for his feelings of inferiority. In fact, if I allow one moment for the fiction that Wade actually cheated to reside in the BlueBell in my mind, I would say that's what his ONS was. Just a band-aid.

I actually think Lemon's love (as a friend) is going to be quite transformational for him from now on. For one thing, she's known who he was since they were kids together, so it's not like she won't see the screw-ups coming and she's definitely not the type to just stand there and watch him do something that will put the Rammer Jammer at risk.

I also don't think that Wade has had many female friends (not to mention the trauma of losing his mother so young), so having someone of the opposite sex care about what happens to him -- and having her be in his face on a daily basis -- can only strengthen his resolve to "man up" and face his demons.
