She did go to work, she was picking up something for work when George needed a ride. And so taking him gave Wade the space he did need and she got the perspective she needed. She didn't leave Wade and then go immediately like hey George can I drive you out of town just to get away.

She was still supposed to work though because she told Wade to tell Brick he had to cover for her. While it wasn't planned, when the opportunity came up she saw it as a perfect chance to get away and avoid Wade.

But again, what was she supposed to say? She could have stayed at the office all day and it really would have not been any different except she never would have changed her mind. She was still adamant about not marrying Wade when she saw George, so it isn't like she would have changed her mind on her own. So she could have avoided Wade by being at work all day or she could have avoided him by being with George, I really don't see any difference.

And she called him and told him that she was going when she could have fully avoided him all together.

At the end of the day she needed an outside perspective regarding this and she wouldn't have gotten it any other way. And Wade needed the time so that he could come to the realization that he didn't NEED the marriage, he just wanted to be with Zoe.

If this scene did not happen, I don't think they ever would have gotten married.

I also disagree with why you just said about if they never had that scene (her and George) tbey never would have got married. It took 2 minutes for her to change her mind and then she was excited immediately which means she would have changed her mind eventually regardless of if she had that scene with George. It wasn't George that made her change her mind, it was obviously something she wasn't THAT against cause all of a sudden it was something she needed to happen. So she would have come around at some point

I agree with Cathy on this. I like 59 for this reason. It's why I voted 55 as well when I liked it and saw it the same way as Kipristin. I wanted 59 to stay. I feel like in the end Zoe leaving gave them both time and perspective. I like that they both ended up wanting to make the other happy. wade was perfectly okay not getting married because he loved Zoe and that's what she wanted. Then Zoe ended up wanting to get married because she saw it as more. Saw it has her and Wade declaring their love for their friends and family to see. So I feel like this scene was an important step that led to them getting married. It also once again showed Wades growth like George was taking about. In the past we saw Wade deal with his insecurities in the worst possible way. However in this scene we saw Wade clearly frustrated but not necessarily angry and doing something stupid. Even mad they both said IlY it gave them time and space to see then others sidenn
