I don't get what people thought Zoe should do. Wade and her didn't agree, her sitting there talking about it wouldn't have fixed anything and would have made them fight even more. He needed time to cool down after hearing the news that she didn't want to get married. And she needed to talk to someone besides him to really understand why marriage was important. So to me, I really like that scene, plus I like that we heard mutual ILYs even when he was mad.

So I will vote with Crystal this round #1.

Zoe needed to hear it from an outside person. I don't think Wade could have said any more then he did when he said since I met you. That still didn't change her mind.

What were they just going to fight it out right then without giving either of them time to think about it? There are times when one needs to step back and give the other time to think...I think she needed to give him the space. Because I don't think he was the one that could have changed her mind.

I feel like sometimes talking to other people helps you get a different perspective. Wade wouldn't have used the same words George did. I always have my one certain friend I go to for advice because she tells me the truth and not what I want to hear. She also good at helping me see perspective.

He was mad...and upset. He wouldn't have been able to rationally tell her in a way that she would understand. And I honestly think he NEVER would be able to have done that.

And it isn't like she was like hey let me go away she happened to run across George while she was picking something up for work and offered to give him a ride.

She used George going to NO to escape. If she asked him that night why he wanted them to get married, I think he'd have given a good reason.

That is my issue with it. It was the same thing she did in 403 when she ran to NY when she found out Wade was going to propose.

And contrast that with the scenes of Wade telling Lavon that he was torn up about it. And Uncle Brando and Sylvie trying to help Wade while she was listening to music in NO with George. The whole thing just bugged me and I didn't like how it played out.

yes, that night, she was back by that night. She still needed to give him the space during the day, and he needed the space to realize that no matter what he wanted to be with her.

If they didn't have that time apart and talking to others, I don't think they both would have come to the same realization. Wade may have given in but it wouldn't be for the right reason, or Zoe could have for the wrong reason also. They both needed time and space to think about it and get perspective.

She didn't plan it, it came up. She should have avoided him all day instead?

Wade never would have explained it the way George did. And at the end, both were willing to do what the other wanted and not because the other was trying to force their hand. Had Wade told her she may have agreed just to stop fighting with him, which isn't a reason to get married.

at least Zoe's mother had her redemption and was nice to Wade
