Lucrezia Borgia

Lucrezia Borgia was born at Subiaco on April 18th, 1480. Her mother was Vanozza dei Cattanei and her father Rodrigo Borgia, who was later known as Pope Alexander VI. She was married three times for her family's political advantage and had eight children. As Duchess of Ferrara, Lucrezia became a patron of the arts and an entrepreneur. She bought around 20,000ha of seemingly worthless swampland which she had drained and had henceforth used to grow grain, beans and flax. It is often suggested that Lucrezia and her brother Cesare may have had an incestuous relationship. Lucrezia died aged 39 in Ferrara on 24 June 1519 from complications after giving birth to a daughter. She was buried in the convent of Corpus Domini.

Sarah Bradford (2004), Monica Bellonci (2002) and Ferdinand Gregorovius (1875) have written the most popular biographies on Lucrezia Borgia. She also inspired many novels and was portrayed in many movies and television series based on her family's rise and fall. For instance most recently:

The Borgias (TV, 2011) played by Holliday Grainger
Borgia (TV, 2011) played by Isolda Dychauk
Los Borgia (Movie, 2006) played by Maria Valverde
The Borgias (TV, 1981) played by Anne Louise Lambert

Holliday Grainger

Holliday Grainger (born in 1988 in Didsbury, near Manchester) is an English actress primarily active in television. In May 2010, Grainger was named one of the 55 faces of the future in Nylon magazine's Young Hollywood Issue. In 2011, Grainger became a series regular on the Showtime television series "The Borgias", portraying Lucrezia Borgia. Lately, she also appeared in several films – "Jane Eyre" (2011), playing one of the Rivers sisters opposite Mia Wasikowska and Michael Fassbender, and "Bel Ami" (2011), alongside Christina Ricci and Uma Thurman. In June 2011, Grainger was cast as Estella in Mike Newell's film adaptation of "Great Expectations", opposite Jeremy Irvine and Helena Bonham Carter. She also has a small part in a 2012 screen adaptation of Leo Tolstoy's "Anna Karenina" starring Jude Law and Kiera Knightly.

Pity we don't get to hear her speak more. I'm always interested in seeing how actresses play Estella, it's quite tricky to get right.

I liked Gwyneth Paltrow even though it was a modern spin on the theme.

Tftnt, Arinna! (The title in the second line though is still the old one, perhaps fix that if you find the time.)

I like this one a lot! ^^^

Holly's eyes are soooo big in that scene it kinda confuses me lool

This is a extended scene from the trailer, I saw the Gwyneth Great Expectations one, and I thought they didn't kiss a lot so releasing a scene with a kiss was a really big scene to release, oooorr, there are more scenes? xD

Plus I saw a interview, that the director said this GE with Holly and Irvine is going to have a different end.

The BBC Great Expectations one from Christmas had a kiss scene if I'm remembering right. It depends how people choose to adapt it. I don't think there will be many, unfortunately Unless they really are changing a lot of things. I hope not, I'm fine with a slightly different ending - Dickens wrote two anyway, but the whole idea is that Estella has been brought up as a tool for Miss Havisham to use to hurt men. It would ruin it if they changed it too much

Holly does look gorgeous as Estella though I can tell I'm going to fall in love with the costumes/settings

Anyone that saw at least two videos of the Anna Karenina movie and can tell me something.

Might this be Holly?
I know it isn't Kathy (or whatever her name is, sorry I dont know :x), because the photos of her with dresses and dancing dont include this cut of dress.

Plus the breast part looks like the one Holly used for BAFTAs last year:

And the face kinda looks like her...

Anyone can back me up or not? xD

I wouldn't know, sorry The picture is so small I can hardly tell. And I haven't read the book, so my knowledge of Holly's character is minimal. It could be her, I guess?

I like the red dress she's wearing in that shoot picture you posted before, and her hair

Oh gosh, she looks so freakishly thin again in that picture.
I like Gwyneth Paltrow (and not just because I was told I resemble her).
