I liked what I read but it seems as if there will be a few episodes without C/L. This seems to be a trend I have noted in prior seasons.

This could happen at any point, I guess? Either way, by the final two episodes they're back together. Maybe she is sad about Alfonso for a little bit in the last episode and at the very last minute she approaches Cesare and is basically like, "We're both monsters." They can't live without each other because no one else is like THEM. So for better or worse, they're together.
