Aww... Lila.
Yeah, I wish we did have new fan fiction with them. Arinna wrote some stuff a long time ago, but nothing recently. I haven't seen any new fics or vids of them in a long time. __________________

Alf's dead body on the bed with them was morbid, but I think it was important in showing how much they meant to each other. They loved so desperately, so passionately, that they could ignore her dead husband's body literally laying in the bed next to them while they're making out! Can you imagine loving someone so much that you lose your sense of reality like that? Wow. Brilliant writing: a picture paints a thousand words... They killed Alf together, him stabbing, her poisoning, so I think that's the second reason the writers left his body with them. Quote:

Hi, Lila!
Oh, yeah... that would've been a great scene if Cesare had carried her away. And Francois said that? Yeah, I understand that Alf's dead body was important imagery, but I just wish it didn't have to linger in the final frame. That's a good observation that they were ignoring him because they were so lost in each other. And yeah, they did kill him together, so it was fitting. I wish they had just laid there next to Alf's body for a short time and then Cesare would carry her away just like he did on her wedding night back in season 1. __________________

Thanks! I agree with you - that would've been a great scene of him carrying her off & not lingering next to Alf. Maybe the writers were trying to show how dark & badass the Borgia siblings had become? I would've liked the more romantic ending. Good point about him carrying her on her wedding night! He carried her again when Paolo died & she collapsed on the street. He was always carrying her off to a bed somewhere so ending with him carrying her off to yet another bed would've been so apropos! Thanks for that gif, Arinna! The Eskimo kiss!
Hi, Lila! Well I'm glad that Francois said that because so many of us were frustrated when the show ended the way it did. I'm also glad that Francois and Holly unapologetically shipped Ces and Lu. Yes, the show would've been very different if they hadn't fought for that relationship. It might've ended up like Borgia. Thanks for agreeing with me! Yeah, it just made sense to me as a way to frame their relationship and bookend things with Cesare carrying the innocent Lucrezia to her bed on her wedding night, and then the older Cesare carrying the older Lucrezia - who had just murdered her husband - to his bed to claim as his own. Yes, it would've been a more romantic that way. Oh yeah, I forgot that Cesare carried her after Paolo died as well. __________________

Thanks Arinna, we all love their little nose bumps!

Borgia lacked the heart & soul connection that François & Holly definitely brought to The Borgias. But I did love this scene from Borgia: Cesar was so badass when he insinuated that baby Rodrigo was his, then turned his back & walked away mocking him. It's cool they included this scene, cause IRL, Alfonso did have concerns that his son with Lucrezia was actually fathered by Cesar. The rumours of incest had already spread thru Italy when baby Rodrigo was born & many people already wondered if baby Giovanni was C&L's. Last edited by Mignonette; 09-19-2018 at 03:55 PM |

Hi, Lila! OMG, thanks for that video! That's Mark and Isolda from Borgia. Is that Alfonso in that scene? Oh yeah, Lu and Alf did have a child together that died at the age of 12. The Borgias didn't include that child. But Alfonso in real life did suspect that the child was Cesare's and not his? Yeah, I know that many people suspected the same of baby Giovanni, but that baby was never recognized as Lucrezia's by Pope Alexander.
Thanks for agreeing with me. Yeah, that would've made a better ending. Yep, it could've ended with Cesare telling Lucrezia, "you will be clean and bloodless again... and mine." Then, after kissing her neck, he would lift her up from the bed where Alfonso was lying and carry her out of the room, and the episode would end with Cesare carrying her down the hallway towards his bedroom, and then go to black and end credits. I agree about the raw passion as well. Yep, she didn't even seem to notice Alfonso lying there after Cesare began cleaning off her face and kissing her. __________________
