Agreed. It's pretty much always been Peter and Mozzie pulling Neal in the direction they want. I know the shake up of adding someone new like Sara into the mix has upset some, but I think it's a good thing. Almost all the characters are a little OOC right now. They seem to be throwing out all these puzzle pieces and many are upset because it's not forming the picture right now. I think we'll start seeing those click into place and things will be making more sense soon.

i still feel like the neal/sara storyline is being forced upon me, like i'm supposed to like it. i don't like that.. i still find it unrealistic that neal forgot about kate so fast and that they became kinda steady after he kissed another woman in the s2 finale... at the beginning of the season it seemed like she was only there to keep neal entertained. she didn't really have a sl or any other purpose whatsoever. don't get me wrong, i don't actually mind their scenes or her as a charater i actually enjoy some of her scenes, she's feisty! but i find it hard to believe that neal would consider giving up everything for her... and now she was the one to discover his secret, yes, right. to me it seems the authors desperately try to give her character a right to be there, as a main character, but they forgot to make it believable and i don't think in a million years that either mozzie or neal would be so careless!!

soo enough rant for now.

I just don't understand why the writers try to make Sara look like such a mastermind. It also makes Peter and Diana look dumb because they still haven't figured it out. For me it's just sloppy writing, to incorporate Sara and there are so many better ways to have her involved without making other characters seem dumb.

Sophia Long time no see! And I agree with you, the Neal/Sara story line definitely happens too fast. They went from not liking each other to having casual sex to being madly in love in like two seconds.

Why do you feel Sara is being made to look like a mastermind? Sara has always been portrayed as a clever individual. I don't think that's being emphasized in any way this season. She found Neal's passport because Neal left the compartment behind the painting open. Then this week Neal and Mozzie practically told her they were hiding something with the way they were acting. Sara found out their password using a trick Neal taught her and gave in to her curiosity at the end which resulted in her learning about their treasure.
Maybe Neal and Mozzie are acting sloppy, but Sara is just using plain common sense. Personally I think its very in character for Neal to act sloppy in this situation because we know that he does that when he's emotionally conflicted and I don't think Mozzie has been particularily sloppy. Neal's actions were what led Sara to find out what she did.
If it were Peter or Diana in her position I'm certain they would have figured it out just the same.

About Neal and Sara's relationship, that's just a matter of opinion. Their relationship did grow a little fast but I don't mind. They both lead very busy and fast paced lives so for me it makes sense that they develop the sort of instant intimacy they have now. To quote Hilarie, "its go big or go home for these two, and that’s why they make good team." (White Collar's Hilarie Burton on Sara/Neal Romance, 'Smooth, Beautiful' Matt Bomer - TVLine)

They made both Neal and Mozzie act like two beginners, just so that Sara could find out. For me that's ruining two characters without any reason. That's what bothers me. They don't need to dumb down characters. The password scene was just far fetched imo and I don't think Sara should have betrayed him like that, especially after she was so mad at him moving a box with files.

Yeah, it's just a matter of opinion. You have your POV and I have mine which is good because it leads to discussion. NS have a lot of chemistry and a lot of potential, that imo is wasted because of how quickly it all happened. I was rooting for them when Hilarie joined the cast because they had this great love/hate chemistry but I have a problem with how it got developed.

I agree.

I don't think you needed to be a huge mastermind to figure out what Neal was hiding. And what is the problem with Sara being intelligent enough to figure it out? It's as if there can only be one intelligent person on the show that can keep up with Neal (Peter) and anyone else being shown to have some ability to keep up with Neal is being "forced on us". I just dont agree with that. Sara is an insurance investigator who makes a nice living for herself tracking people down. There's no way that you can tell me that it's unrealistic for her to be able to figure this stuff out.

Honestly I think the show was dropping some huge hints with the whole password drama and Neal's quote about your subconscious always working. Sara being able to figure out the password so easily also seems to be a product of Neal getting cold feet about the treasure, whether he's doing it on purpose or subconsciously. Neal mentioning staying in New York was very telling as well as Neal's conversation with Sara. I love seeing an open, sincere Neal and having this treasure seems to be weighing on him. And I completely understand why he would turn to Sara.

Sara's a smart woman, but I didn't see Sara being a mastermind. She acted out of curiousity when finding the passport, made reasonable assumptions when acussing Neal of hiding things based on the way he both acted and spoke. If using common sense makes one a mastermind, some of us must be genuises.

There is nothing wrong with Sara being intellignet, I never said that. I have a problem with dumbing down characters and that's what happens to Neal and Mozzie imo. And the whole password arc was far fetched.

What does that have to do with Sara? It just seems like a writing issue. Although, I'm not inclined to believe that Neal and Mozzie always have to be one step ahead of anyone without making any mistakes ever. Yes they are incredible "cons" but they are not without flaws. Just my opinion.

I understand what you are saying and I see your point and why you think that. I am also inclined to agree; Mozzie and Neal seemed to make it quite obvious that something was up in front of Sara. However, like I said in my previous post, I think it is completely in character for Neal to be acting so sloppy with this whole situation, considering how conflicted he is. It has been established in seasons 1 and 2 that he gets sloppy when he is emotionally conflicted and right now I think he might be just as conflicted, or maybe even more so, as he was with the whole Kate situation.

I don't think Mozzie has been particularily sloppy. It was Neal's actions that led to Sara discovering their secret. I agree that Mozzie and Neal may be acting a little sloppy, I just disagreed with your "the writers are trying to make Sara look like such a mastermind" argument.

thank you, word! i agree, and hey paula!

the thing is neal & mozzie not only made one mistake but two and neal left her alone in his apartment and left his laptop on the table and he didn't even consider using a stzronger passwoird other security options to hide his secret. it looks like he's not even trying. he just handed sara all the answers on a silver platter... and yes that is a writing issue. i never heard anyone say that sara as a character was the problem. it's just that they desperately try to inlude her in the show... and in my opinion they try too hard, that's the problem. and the other thing is, i don't understand why neal would be so emotionaly conflicted after two seconds whith her. so that explanation doesn't really make sense to me either as to why he's being sloppy.
