Kate, yeah it would really make sense to me if something like that happened because I don't see Elle as the sort of girl who's just a damsel in distress.

Exactly

El is strong and capable so I can see her fighting for herself and not just relying on the guys to rescue her.

He probably would be too ashamed and not want to be involved too much in the reunion, but then Elizabeth would just hug him and assure him it was not his fault
