I have a problem choosing between my yin and yang love of Jon & Jaime, and then Sansa who I just adore. But Jon & Jaime both appeal to such different aspects of me, I can never say which I love more, because I love them both so much.

Personally I think the original seven narrators are equally important, Ned and Cat of course are dead so there are only five left. The show has been consistent with Arya & Sansa as far as development, the other three, Tyrion got a big season in s2. Dany s3, and I suspect this is Jon's year. There's a lot more Jon promo materials this year than in the past too.

They've fudged a bunch of stuff, especially Jon's relationship with Ghost which is my biggest complaint. But to get him through all the stuff ASOS requires, they MUST develop him and really dig into his story this season.

Now that I'm nearly caught up with ASoS I am anxiously awaiting the stuff coming up for Jon in s4.

I haven't read the books but I know what happens to him in the third book, dunno much about him in the 4th and 5th books tho.

Well, he's not in the forth book. The latter two books are divided by geography. North & Essos is in ADWD, the rest of it is AFFC. They run concurrently. Arya is the only character that appears in both books.

I reread them last summer in chronological order which means you have to flip back and forth between the two books.
