I also loved Captain Gates in last night`s season premiere. While she was following protocol in regards to the team`s action, she smartly recognized that they were covering for Captain Montgomery. Captain Gates saw the team`s loyalty and their being stand up, which she obviously respected and want the same for herself in the future. Hopefully this will cause Captain Gates to give the team a little more leeway in future cases.

^I liked that she respected Kate and the fact that she didn't wanna tell her more about what was going on. She's being loyal and Gates knows that.
Anyway, i can't quite say whose fangirling about Castle I love more. Stana's, Tamala's or Penny's.. either in interviews or on Twitter.. amazeballs!!   |

But, OT: i think 5x01 was good for the Gates character, there need to be more sides to her than an IA ballbuster who distrust her own cops at every possible moment and we saw that, she showed actual respect and understanding for her detectives by taking into consideration their loyalty to their old captain.

Over this season I've really grown to love Gates, even more so after the last episode.
I really liked Montgomery but I find myself really loving Gates and have loved watching her progression, plus Penny's tweets make it hard not to love her character. I'm still waiting for her to be involved in Beckett's mothers case even though I think she has her suspicions now just like she does with Castle/Beckett __________________
