The look that they share in that scene in the last ep where Castle is speaking to Alexis.. It's the epitome of looks.

I have no doubt because Marlowe has said on numerous occasions that Castle is a love story. That alone gives me hope for some epic, romantic moment in the finale.

I would agree with you, but I also thought there could not be an X-Files without Mulder. So, imagine my surprise when the last two seasons proved me wrong Still, Nathan and Stana seem to be having fun, so I'll be optimistic for a fitting series finale.

The difference is that in XFiles the weight was in the cases and we could survive with a main out of screen as long as we knew he was working on a case, Castle is about the characters much more than the cases, it's different

Just this interaction alone shows real growth in the relationship between Castle and Beckett. Just the way they can communicate with their glances speaks volumes as to how in tune they are with one another. This never would have happened with season one Castle and Beckett. Yet another reason to think that this season's finale will be better than last season's.

ETA: Also, Kate seems to smile a lot more whenever Castle's around lately. The L.A. episode should be full of win if this trend continues.
