I honestly think they'll get there. It's a process and even without what happened, it would have been an adjustment going from romantic partners to friends.

Tyler has every right to be angry and upset with her. She slept with the person who killed his mother and he should just get over it. If Haley had killed Caroline's mother in cold blood and Tyler slept with her should Caroline just have to get over it and deal with it?

I didn't say that Tyler should have got over it, I said that Tyler should have stopped being jerk. He doesn't have to get over it because as I've said before, it's not easy. And nobody can blame him because he can't get over it. But also nobody can blame Caroline for what she feel. She always tired for this relationship and never gave up on it. But when Tyler was gone, she kept going on her own way. Tyler has a right to be angry with her but he can't blame her like she is the only person who made mistake.

Caroline has never given up on them well I seem to remember when Tyler came to her after he was turned into a hybrid by Klaus naturally

and begged her to stand by him she couldn't do that. It's not like Caroline has always been there for him she has had her moments where she has walked away from him. My main issue is how Caroline did this unthinkable thing with the worst person possible in Tyler's mind (and he's not wrong about that IMO) yet somehow he's the bad guy for not being sweet enough to her

Caroline has held his actions against him plenty of times in the past. I seem to remember how slamming the door in his face after he hesitated to help her in S2, her lashing out at him after he accidentally bit her because Klaus put in his head to after he had been turned and getting upset with him when he dared to be upset that his friend had killed by Damon in order to protect precious Elena. Tyler's mistakes are thrown in his face all of the time so what Caroline's should be swept under the rug like she never did anything wrong I mean she only slept with a cold blooded killer who just happened to kill Tyler's last living parent and rubbed his face in it every chance he got.

It is understandable that Tyler is angry with Caroline and yes she has held him accountable for things he's done in the past. Caroline has not continued to bring up those events later on though. For example: she was angry with him when he hesitated to help her out when she had been captured and tortured by the werewolves but Tyler left before they could work that out. Caroline let that issue go and informed Tyler when he returned that she wanted him to stay. For most of Caroline's friendship/relationship with Tyler he has been coming and going. While I respect Tyler's right to be angry with Caroline for sleeping with the person that killed his mother, Caroline is not entirely at fault for the demise of their relationship. While I understand Tyler's position, I also don't expect Caroline to want to be around someone who isn't treating her well. It's one thing to own responsibility for choices and it's another to have to listen to someone berate you for those choices for the rest of the season (which thankfully didn't happen). I'm glad that the writers brought up the issue when they did because It's certainly not something I would have wanted to watch. Most characters on this show don't even have to address their behavior more than episode or two beyond whatever incident happened, so in many ways we're lucky that it continued to be addressed as long as it has been.
