you are right, that was sad.

I think there wasn't enough time to bring his family in (with this short notice of ending the show) and his ohana was just inside the house. don't think they have left danny all alone on the beach and gone home after steve had closed the door.
can imagine some beers and talks at the beach with all of the people who said good bye to steve at the house.

and I think he and junior are now living together and eddie is there too.
so, danny is not alone.
and as steve said: he has a phone.




sometimes everything sounds like steve is gone forever and nobody can reach him or talk to him ever again.
he just needs some time. I am absolutely convinced that he will return in a few month - a year max. not sure about 5-0 though. but he is going to have a clear head then and will make the right decision - just like he did now in my opinion.
sure it is hard for danny (and the rest of the team), but it sure was for steve too.
when he left danny sitting on the beach he looked back at him, the ocean, the beach and for a short moment I had the feeling he was going to cancel his plans, but then he pulled himself together, turned and left.
I also think he would never leave danny for good. they are too close. but leaving to get your life back together and returning in the not so far future was something he could account for.

Yeah I think also the short notice from CBS has robbed us from seeing Danny’s kids with the injured Danny had they had to be there.

Danny knows as no other that Steve need some space the whole season Danny was worried about Steve I also think Danny will be happy that Steve is not alone that Cath is with him.

Steve will be back in a few months he ask Lincoln to keep the fort for him till he is back and when Steve is back he will lead his Ohana again I am sure of it.

Yeah, I truly believe that Danny, Junior , and Eddie are living in Steve's house house sitting for him. Especially since it is not like he was leaving forever. Like you said, I truly believe that he won't be gone forever and he was taking just a year break AT MOST. Especially since he told Lincoln to "hold the fort down". IMO he wouldn't have said those exact words if he didn't intend on coming back. When he comes back then he has a clearer head than he did when he left. He may still come back to hawaii and maybe when he comes back and he wants to be in the background helping his task force. I truly believe that Steve will still go back to his task force just have maybe a not so out there role on the team.

Yeah, I think Danny knowing that Cath is with him on this mental break from everything will make him feel much more at ease because he knows that Cath will take care of him in all of this. But I think that even by Cath starting this journey with him is a big step in some mental recoup to begin with because we all know that part of his stress was that he lost his one true love and didn't have her anymore, but now he got her back. I think that when Steve comes back, Lincoln will remain having the role in the field that Steve did. I see Steve coming back to the team, but not so much time in the field as he once did.

Doesn't change the fact that PL and CBS said that they wouldn't be opposed to bringing it back in the future so who knows what the cast would decide years down the road. Yes, it all exists in fan fiction now which is fine, but I think it is still perfectly okay to be hopeful about a possible come back season years down the road.

“I wrote the episode thinking that it might be Alex’s last episode and it might be the finale,” Lenkov tells Parade.com exclusively. “I didn’t know for sure until later in the process. The script was already written, but I don’t get word through early spring that the show’s coming back, so I always write an episode that could be the series finale. I’ve done that for almost 10 years. What you’ll see is very much what could have been the end of season 10, and the beginning of season 11, as well. I just made some minor adjustments to it to make it a series finale.” What struck me when watching was just how much the finale included the new character of Lincoln Cole (Lance Gross), who didn’t really have a place with the team yet, but it turns out that there was a reason for his presence. Lenkov was hoping that CBS would keep 5-0 going. “You don’t take anything for granted in TV,” Lenkov says. “So, I never take for granted that we’re getting picked up, so I’ve got to plant some seeds to keep the show going, in case the network decides they want to pick it up. Lincoln was the character I wanted to introduce. I thought that he’d make a great add to the family in case Alex didn’t come back. I thought I had another strong character to help carry it into later seasons. Exactly! how I saw it in the future for H5O Steve coming back and lead the Task Force again as leader the fighting and action was for Lincoln, Junior and Adam.
We all know that Steve went through a lot he deserve some time away to escape from it all.
I hope the show will come back some day so we can enjoy two men bickering in the Adirondack chairs looking over the ocean.

For me, it sounds like Alex had been considering leaving after season 10 when Peter was writing the finale so he planned for that, but also planned for a season 11 without Alex. But then after CBS found out that Alex didn't sign on for season 11 they decided to end anyway. That is my impression of it, but I could be completely wrong!

Yeah, completely agree with you. And completely how I imagined it too..... That Steve comes back to Hawaii and the task force, but being more of the one behind the scenes of the front line action and leaving all of that to some of the other members and Steve just staying more inside their office doing all the tech stuff looking up info for the team for the cases.
