I've just read an awful news -- Under president Obama's strategy, most of U.S. forces shall depart Afghanistan in 2014, which means Emily's dad won't return until S5!

It's TV, and it's not a military show, they very rarely follow what has happened that closely, I doubt they will. He was only meant to be gone for 5 months anyway, and PLL doesn't focus on military issues, so what's happening in RL won't really affect anything with the show much. They'll bring him back when they want to.

Exactly. Also, the show is technically set a year behind, so everything is happening in 2011 right now.

Pam's supposed to be in a good 5-7 episodes in S3b, Nia was talking about it on Twitter. I hope this means they actually have her doing something, not just popping up for a minute or two for a tiny little scene. Considering how much time they spent with Ashley and Ella, it's only fair they put some focus on Pam. I mean, honestly.
