Negl, I actually don't think it's Maya. 1) It doesn't really make any sense, 2) they didn't show us her face, and 3) it would destroy Emily's character beyond all belief.

I haven't liked EM since S1a, but I want them to have a PROPER ending and resolution. They and the fans deserve it.

A part of me wants to believe Maya is alive but don't want to get my hopes up.

Even if they wanted to kill Maya, they could have given us Emaya fans a better ending. Why have Emily and Maya's last scene be a argument.

I was not much of a Maya fan myself (not after S1), but I didn't really like how they killed her off.
