Okay, true.

I just have always thought the idea of the flame is weird, and it’s always felt a bit out of place on this show to me.

But it could be different with Madi, so we’ll see. The whole Commander system could be different with Madi (and I pray to God it is.)

We need a new thread.

Yep.

I just think we've got more coming from the Flame this season, considering that Jason really put an emphasis on how important it was going to be for the plot in some of his interviews.

I'd be happy if they went this route to be honest, because I agree with everyone here about the whole "Commander" thing needing to be put to rest.

I was thinking maybe Octavia would've had to kill the people they had chosen for the culling. Not only having to choose them, but also having to kill them herself.
Because whatever happened seemed to be extremely traumatic to Octavia herself.
But would something like that warrant such great deep loyalty?

On the one hand I'm having fun speculating.
On the other hand I feel like keeping us in the dark (haha, pun) about this for 10 episodes is just waaaay too long
