Yeah, it is how Clarke tends to make leadership decisions, I will definitely agree with that. At this point though, no one else has really come up with any other ideas on how to handle Octavia's desire to go to war. Having Indra talk to her totally backfired.

Spacekru's focus has been on saving their friends, which isn't wrong by any means. But what's the plan after that? Also, they haven't really been involved with the Madi situation so they have no idea how serious that threat is.

I'm hoping that tackling the Octavia issue in this next episode gets Spacekru and Clarke back on the same page.

Why is Clarke "the leader" in this situation, though? That's the thing that's always bothered me about her character. I don't understand why she has authority over everyone.

Oh, you mean like everyone constant negative comments about Octavia? I'd love for that to stop.

Tara, I would love for Clarke and Spacekru to get back on the same page. I feel like that’s when something can be accomplished.

I’m pretty excited for this episode, but I’m also nervous.

I don’t think Clarke is the leader right now, by the way. She’s just the person who has decided to voice the inevitable: that something has to be done about Octavia.

Clarke has a long history of just deciding that she's going to take over a situation. I'd say it's a core element of her personality.

I know right!? Regardless of what the ground has ever thrown at them, the members of the original 100 have always done best when they work together. I just hope that by the end of the season Octavia is working with them in some way as well. I really miss some of the dynamics she had with their characters.

And Indra!!! Omg...her and Octavia need to be okay again like yesterday. Their relationship has always been a highlight for me. I'm really curious to see what part she has to play in 5x08.

Expressing negative comments about a character’s actions is fine, I only take issue with comments where posters use derogatory language and that so-and-so character is useless and should die/be killed off as soon as possible etc etc.

I watched. Still disagree that he was annoyed, he seemed more surprised than anything else.

I do agree that Clarke does tend to take over without really consulting people but to be fair, it’s not like Spacekru has really taken her into account anyway. Only Bellamy and Raven thanked her for saving their butts in Praimfaya and they’ve been making calls on their own and almost left her behind when they wanted to leave (and didn’t look like they were going to tell her). So I’m honestly not so concerned with what Spacekru likes or does not like, right now.

When Clarke sits back and lets people make decisions (while contributing while she can), she’s useless but then when she takes charge again (after firstly trying to abide by the decision of the others), she’s being bossy. Honestly, their plan sucked in comparison so I’m all for her taking charge on this. I feel like Clarke just can’t win with this fandom. Anyway. I for one love her this season.

God, I love her this season, too, Sarah. So far, she’s been my favorite character of the season, which has never happened before.

And yes, Bellamy was surprised, IMO, like you said.

1000% agree, Clarke is killing it this season.

As for her leadership, it's funny because I actually think she hates having to take charge. Every time that she's taken over a situation, it's because things have escalated so far that she's forced to step in and get her hands dirty. And she ends up traumatized by the results.

I think it will be interesting to see her and Spacekru work together in 5x08, because I feel like Bellamy is used to being the one to call the shots for them at this point. You can already see Monty really vibing with Clarke so far.

Most of the fandom loves Clarke, though. It's just my unpopular opinion that she's boring. Like I just don't think she has a personality. Unless "extremely serious and uptight" is a personality. I guess it is...

Clarke has been off on her own making decisions based on protecting Madi and Spacekru have been protecting each other. Clarke didn't really seem too worried about what happened to them either until Octavia got her clutches into Madi and now all of a sudden Clarke's snatching Skaikru's plan away from them and telling them what to do. Now that Madi's going to war, their business is Clarke's business.

It's true that Clarke has tended to mostly take things into her own hands, but IMO she does it because she believes it's for the good and survival of the mass. Besides, like that saying goes, be the change you want to see in the world.
IMO she is a great leader; she is smart, resourceful, strategic, and self-assured. She gets things done and doesn't do things out of hate or spite. And while she takes over, it doesn't mean people have to follow her. They're welcome to stand against or ignore her, but most choose not to, and it's because more often than not they understand her reasoning.

Clarke deciding on her own and moving forward her way is what annoys me the most about her but luckily she hasn't bothered me this season I hope this episode is the same
