Yeah, that title was misleading TBH.

In not-so-positive news, I just wish that this fandom doesn't get so ugly sometimes. Two years on and there's still people attacking the actors playing guest stars/new characters on the show (not posting the castmember's name here since it's spoilerish) and saying that they want another guest star back ... you guys can probably guess who. I get that some people are really unhappy about how the show went in season 3, but NOTHING makes it okay for you to hurt people's feelings and telling them that they don't want them on the show (and these "fans" probably don't even watch anymore TBH, so it's a moot point). It's so disrespectful and unfeeling, and the fact that the actor has to come out and say that he feels treated like an object/not a human is telling enough.

SMH.

That's terrible Sarah. And I fully agree with your post. They need to find other things to do/shows to watch and move on. The show itself and the cast, etc. have.

I wasn’t aware of any of that. That’s so sad. Once again, like with the people who hurt Bob’s feelings a couple weeks ago, it’s probably just a small handful of people giving the entire group a bad name. I just wish anyone who doesn’t know how to be a decent, polite, respectful human being could stay off the Internet.

It's the issue of keyboard warriors and people who feel like they're invincible behind a computer screen. I'd like to see them have the gall to say this when they're standing in front of the person. It's plain disgusting, I'll never ever send hate to an actor for something he/she has no control over ... just because I'm bitter over a freaking TV SHOW.

Yeah, they would never say that to the actor’s face.

In the education system, we encounter the same problem all the time with cyber bullying amongst our students. It’s such a problem, and a difficult one to rectify.

It really is quite gross how people use a computer screen as a safety net for them to spew whatever hatred forward that they want. I REALLY wish people would stop harassing actors from the show - if you're upset, direct it at Jason still but not the others. They have literally done nothing wrong. It's just really sad.

Yeah, I can understand the dislike for Jason (though the death threats are still 100% unacceptable) ... NOT a new actor to the show who has literally nothing to do with any creative decisions for the show.

I just wish there would be anything we could do to prevent this from happening. They need to re-evaluate their life and maybe put themselves in their shoes and think about how they'd feel if they got flooded with such messages.

Yes, honestly it's such disturbing behaviour ... it seems like cyber bullying is so common these days that we're a bit numb to it, but it should never be normalised. And Twitter/other social media networks should be more mindful about such behaviour and take reports made by other Twitter users seriously. I feel like a lot of people shouldn't be given a platform to spew hate/vitriol. This is also why I love FF, you can't just go around saying things like that here without consequences.

Yeah and what can you do? Words don't mean anything to people like this/cyber bullies in general. Alot of these younger people grew up in a culture of being able to sling words around without seeing direct consequences. When I was a kid you would have to say it to the person's face, and then a schoolyard fight would ensue

Now it's a totally different ballgame with no accountability.
