I totally agree with that, he is really trying to do things the right way and not trying to mess up anything. Even when he sleep with Cate again (Season 1) he didn't know a Ryan existed.

So he does try to do the right thing.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE all of the Kris/Baze quotes! There is absolutely no way I could choose a favorite. But, I'll throw in one from Baze in "Father Unfigured":

"You can blame me all you want for not being there. But I am here NOW. And if you took Lux from me tomorrow, I would not eat, I would not sleep until I found her..."

Again, it's the way that Kris delivered it that completely blew me away. The pained expression on his face when Cate says that the only person who consistently lets her down is him. Then he throws something at the bed (I think it's a shoe?), and he's like, "Alright. Here we go. Let's get this all out." Gah! It gets me every single time. Yeah, it's kind of a CB quote, but even more it shows Baze's FIERCE love for his daughter and his desire for Cate to recognize how much he is trying to change - to make up for the past and show her that he is not going anywhere. That entire scene was just awesome.

Another classic Baze quote from that same episode: "Is it weird to want to smell someone?"

Crystal, I would NOT say no to that. I remember watching that very first scene of season two and thinking to myself "I'm going to looooove season 2!"

Keri, both are really really great! You've got it right that Baze's fierceness when delivering his lines is the best part. It's what draws us to him.
