This has probably been discussed before, but does anyone know if the writers always intended for Chandler&Monica to be together? Cause when you look back at pre CM episodes, it seems like it.

Yeah, the writers didn't have the M/C idea at the beginning, I think it just probably came up around S4 and yeah Jule you're right, when they first started the show they were thinking about Monica and Joey to be 'the couple' but then they went for Ross and Rachel (seeing the magic working out between Dav and Jen

) and I don't think I've ever heard about how they thought about Chandler and Monica but great idea anyway

I like that it didn't come out of nowhere, it always seemed to develop organically, even if- I assume, since I watched it post-finale- it was a bit of a surprise.

And I don't know, I'm not sure if they already thought about putting MC together back in S3, I think that idea could just have came during S4
