The lead characters most interesting relationships are with non-romantic partners.

* Every variation of the Mikaelson sibs.
* Marcel: Father/son ship w/Klaus; Father/daughter w/Davina
* Even Elijah and Marcel have an interesting dynamic. Marcel has clearly stated he doesn't like Elijah. Several times Elijah has made comments about the ineptness of Marcel's band of derelicts as he called them this episode.
* Klaus, Marcel & Beks have all had great scenes w/Father Kieran

Hayley, Sophie and Cami I'm neutral. Cami I do enjoy w/her uncle.

I know the romantic ships are coming but I do hope they stay in the background.

Finally caught the episode.

I really loved Papa Tunda. I just loved his presence, his badass confidence, his white suit...I wish they would have kept him for a few more episodes.

Cool flashbacks ...Rebekah looked so lovely,

Loved Camille and Marcel scenes at the bar.
Especially when Papa Tunda showed up and Camille tried to help him.
Unlike Thierry who ditched Rebekah in a blink of an eye at the first sign of trouble.

Elijah and Hayley....I really do not care much about these two as a pairing or their scenes. Meh.
I am looking forward to her giving birth already.

It is rather blah on the ships. I mean, two characters who have had some very shippy moments, and questionable moral interactions, are Klaus/Rebekah. And since this isn't HBO the pairing is unlikely on network tv.

...Despite the writer also shipping them.

Sofia....I just back and forth between liking her character and wanting her dead.

Ugh I think the romance will kill the show, it's only been subtle because it's the first season and because the writers are transparently scared of KC fans. So they've been subtle with Klaus the most, in hopes that viewers will pick up on it and start to jump on board the new ships for him, but it's flopping and very few fans are interested in it.

I like Klaus with Kieran and I don't remember Kieran's scenes with the other two. But it's great that the show isn't dependent on romance and still suceeding, I just hope/wish they keep it that way.

lol! How can you not remember Kieran scenes w/at least Marcel when most of his initial scenes were with Marcel.

Actually most of Kieran's scenes were with Klaus for me. Unless that's just selective memory

Well, not a great episode, but also not as bad...

I'll start with Rebekah, and how happy I am that she seems to be the only one smart enough to be concerned (with her own reasons) about the lost/misplaced power from the ritual, after all we're talking about the channeled power of what was supposed to be the motherload of rituals involving witches.
I understand her arguments for wanting to gather as much power as she can to have something to use against Klaus when necessary because let's not forget that he has put her down for the minimum things. The only thing I HATED was the flashback part where she sort of plots with Marcel to bring Mikael back.... I mean, quite a way to ruin everything that happened in TVD with that. Now her whole speech (that really made me be angry at Klaus for once) about she always choosing him and loving him through everything, means nothing since she did try to betray him at one point for the guy that left her be in a coffin for 52 years The writers make Rebekah give 1 step forwards in every episode, just to the last moment make her walk 2 back.

But how awesome was her finally calling Elijah out on his hypocritical way?!! I LOVED that! She is his sister and yet he is always worrying about Klaus and forgetting all about her. She really is neglected. And she is right, at least she is consistent, she chooses love over anything EVERYTIME... Elijah does the same and yet he has the nerve to try to make her feel guilty about it.

Now Klaus, he is a dick and we all know that... but a CLEVER one and nobody can deny that.
I have to say that the little mention to MF and his good mood really made me happy. What?!! I wasn't expecting anything, so to me it was awesome It's a fact that he had reasons to be in a great mood

Gotta say that I really really want Sophie to have a SL, but becoming the Originals personal witch encyclopedia was not that... I do smell a Bonnie 2.0 about that and I don't like it.... She really needs a point/reason to be on the show

Marcel.... I feel your pain.... I'm glad that they didn't just make him forget about Davina just like that, gives a sense that he really cared about her and I like that. Makes him more likeable, and the character sure was needing to be more charismatic.
I have to say I was surprised to find out that he was the one that lured Papa Tunde to NOLA in the first place.... quite the twist, but yet not really that interesting because it just made him look like a coward backstabber.

As for Camille, it's hard to not be bored by her scenes if the writers make sure to give her the worst lines ever. I liked the interaction with Marcel, and LOVED her remark that Davina was powerful and yet was not a monster. But other than that, nothing remarkable

I couldn't care less for Hayley's scenes in the show.. I just wish they would stop using the baby as an instrument to solve all problems.... that has gotten old before it even started

I didn't want Thierry to leave, but it made sense since Klaus was forcing them to pledge loyalty to him, and his alliance with Rebekah was clearly over... easier and safest to choose door number 2 that Klaus offered (which was a first)

I am really intrigued by Celeste!! Hope she sticks around and gives the Originals quite the headache from now on.

^ I was hoping for Theirry/Sophie/Rebekah teaming up but that looks like it won't be happening. With an evil witch who could kill everybody I don't see how the fight for NOLA is a priority though. Everybody will probably have to work together if they want to defeat Celeste.

If I was Rebekah I would try to use the fact that everybody is worried about the new big evil to form a plan... she doesn't have to put it in action now, but it would be a good time for her to engeneer a good strategy

I gotta admit that the big evil does make me happy with the possibility of the siblings finally working together.

If I was Rebekah... I would leave NOLA and go find Matt and go around the world as bffs or as a couple, doesn't matter.

Seriously, there's NOTHING positive coming from this for Rebekah. NOTHING. This will only end with her either doing something terrible/stupid and of course being blamed for everything bad to ever happen in NOLA and being daggered again. Either that or she's dying this season (someone is going to die...) tho why would Plec kill Rebekah after ruining her character if she's one of the most loved characters in the show? I dunno. I don't think she's going to die, but part of me just wishes she disappears from TO, not because I don't like her anymore, she's my bb, but because Plec won't give her a damn break.

I'm not surprised at Rebekah being retconned and destroyed since I always knew that JP doesn't like her. Knewwwww it.

Well, I thought that the disregard towards Rebekah in TVD was just because there were too many characters that were more important than her in the show... but turns out that it isn't and you're right.. JP must really not like her

Only person she likes is joesph morgan, she doesn't give a crap about the rest.

She should have just called it "the klaus show".
