It is, & it seemed to happen a lot with Klaus, it was all about what he could give her money wise, the dresses, the jewellery, travel etc. That's not love. & I agree, it is about control.

& it doesn't even really make sense, because Tyler & Caroline were vampires too, so they could pretty much compel people to get anything that they wanted

...but they had what they wanted, a loving relationship & the one chance they had to live their teenage lives as if none of this supernatural stuff had happened to them. They were gonna live forever, but they only had now to go to school with the people they grew up with, have prom, graduation, college etc for the first time.

Like I said, it's really only Klaus fanatics who obsessively hated on Tyler -- simply because he was the guy who Caroline was in love with, and they felt that Klaus was entitled to her.

It just baffles me that they think Klaus "deserves" anyone, let alone Caroline. He's such a lone wolf (so to speak) and is too vicious to really be in a partnership.

I liked the build-up as well -- Jeremy noting the romantic tension at the restaurant, Matt noting her jealousy when Tyler danced with a random girl and all of their talk at the beginning about being horny

Good point I do think he was waiting for her to make the move. He didn't want to presume anything, particularly after the mess that happened in Season 2 when their friendship went to hell when vampires and wolves started attacking each other
