I agree, it had become a paradoy of itself, although I still watch.

When, MTV was promoting the Pedro movie, I went back and watched RW: San Francisco on mtv.com and woa. There is no way that show would have been on today. Real 20 smethings dealing with the real world?

So what is everyone's favorite early Real World season?

San Francisco for sure, but I have a soft spot for Boston.

I was too young to watch this when it was on, but I've heard so much wonderful stuff about the early seasons. I've seen some clips, that's all though.

Today's RW is just so trashy. Though, last season wasn't so bad, imo.

The first season is on DVD?! How did I not know this? *looks on Amazon*

I remember the fight Julie and Kevin had on the street. Intense stuff.

Oh, Seattle. Stephen slapping Irene is a classic. Even those who haven't seen that season knows about that. David and his relationship with one of the RW producers. Think? My memory is hazy. Rebecca and her singing. Lindsey was cutie, with her curly hair. I like Seattle. I wouldn't mind watching it again.

I was young too. I was born in 1985 so I didn't watch the earlier seasons at the time it aired. But I remember a marathon airing where they showed every season from the beginning. Don't know when this was, but I was still in school. I did tape a few. I'm glad to have some memories of these seasons because they're hard to find now.

Yup, and I have to say it's worth it. Plus, there is commentary by Jonathan murray and he answers a lot of questions. They should release a dvd for all the seasons (only NY and Las Vegas are on dvd).

That was a really intense scene. JM said it was taped after the rodney king incident, although they never included that in the episode.

That was crazy. I think everyone remembers that episode. I was sad when Irene left the house because she my fave cast member. She now travels and gives talks against reality tv.

Those marathons were great. I wish they still did them.

Thanks for the heads up about the New York DVD. I may give it a purchase. They really should release more of the seasons, if the demand is high enough. Don't know if it will be. I would get Boston since I enjoyed the Genesis, Kameelah, Jason friendship. And San Francisco for Puck and Pedro and the rest of the cast.

Interesting info on the Kevin/Julie fight. Thanks. =)

They need to do another marathon. Or replay the first and second reunion they had. Where is wasn't just one cast, but a lot of the cast in one room. I remember Puck being an insensitive butthead, but what's new?

They have the 1st reunion for sale too. But it is on vhs- I got it a couple of years ago. It has the first 4 seasons, and the san francisco cast is dynamite because it is soon after Pedro passed away and Puck is being a jerk.

Mtv sold the rights to the show years ago- so I think that's why they never replay the good seasons.

Oh cool. Didn't know about the VHS. I did tape the two reunions but I stupidly recorded over it.

That's too bad. I know there are people out there who would like to see the earlier seasons but can't.

I think that BTNY, New Orleans, and Vegas were the last ones before it just got ridiculous. I haven't really watched since Vegas.

I have a soft spot for Hawaii because i loved Colin!

Miami still entertains me to no end. I really wish that MTV would still do their marathons. The only early season that I did not pay too much attention to actually was London. And I don't really know why.

I never liked London. But I do remember that guy who got his tongue bitten off.

Searching through youtube for some old RW vids, can't seem to find much.

But I did find this: Real World Miami. Dan and Melissa fight. Worth another viewing.

My favorites out of the 90's were Hawaii and Seattle.

thanks for posting that! It was awesome- and so real, that's the exactly the type of fight that real roommates might have. That's why we never get fights like that anymore.
