Haven't watched the last episode yet (hopefully I will manage today) but the talk Alex is planning sounds like there will be some trouble soon. But at least he is talking about it and isn't just doing it.

I cannot believe he was actually thinking that his college fund/inheritance could fund it. But Jane recognizes that he's 18, so they don't have vote.

But they don't have to help fund it.

But we will see if he can fund this trip by other means... He is trying though, which is good. Sounds like he's been drifting since the injury, and even though he is cleared to play again. He's not sure of where his life will take him. So, we will see if the trip happens.

I think Jane & Daniel need to realise that it is Alex's life & he can do whatever he wants. Just because he doesn't go to college now doesn't mean he can't in the future or even has to. Surely there's lots of other options out there? Then surely plenty of people take a gap year? If it is just about the money, ok. But still what if he chooses to never go to college? What happens to the money then? Is he never allowed to use it?

Lucy really doesn't like water.

I know Jesse says it isn't his story to tell, but interesting still to hear a little of his experiences as a cop in DC. Bit of backstory on what makes him who he is today

Love Lucy's concern for Ernie. They have a nice friendship Understandable why Ernie didn't feel much for his father. Nice to know some a background story for his character

I think they see Alex as someone who has been drifting since his injury. It seemed to take him off the trek he has been on. And also, suddenly he's talking about going off, with a girlfriend that is older and more experienced. That is a lot to take in. If say he had gotten a scholarship to college and therefore he had the money. I think they would be open for him to use for other uses.

I can see the objections but the money was earmarked for his education. And he wants to use to fund his travels.

It all sudden. They need to get used to it.

But they know Alex is 18, so they don't have a vote. Except maybe to say yes or no to the use of the money at this point.

Yeah I know where they are coming from, & they were hit with a shock which Alex also needs to realise. Doesnt change the fact that they need to take a moment & realise that it is his life to live not theirs which was all I was commenting on. College is their dreams not his in this moment. Yes it is probably the girlfriend's influence, however it is also possible he didn't know he had a choice before he met her

I agree with not using the money or all the money for this trip. However I don't agree with saying the money has to go towards education only. Or being narrow minded that you have to go to college & that education is only through school settings.
