I think it was simply another period in time.. Maybe she was depressed, but she wasn't mad IMHO

I did read the book
From what I can remember, it was mostly from Frank's POV, and, although it wasn't told clearly, there were some parts that were indicating that April might be mad. Or, perhaps, to follow Nicky's opinion, she was depressed, but the depression became even worse, and, at one point, she became mad? Kate said that she thought April was mad in an interview once __________________
