You can add me to the list of loving this film. First film I ever saw of Kate's back in the wee days before she hit the big time. I love that Mel worked with Sam last year so they basically did a full circle in terms of this film. Plus Kate thanking Peter in her Oscar speech. __________________

Thanks, Melika, for adding the banner I made to the OP! I just want to once again share one of my favorite scenes with you guys, with added visual aids. This is one pretty intense scene with the two girls on the phone. They don't want to be separated (though it's more complex than that) and the thought of it drives them to near madness. Juliet lashes out at her mother and Pauline does the same. But what gets me the most are the last two screencaps. The look in Pauline's eye. That evil looking stare. I guess what draws me to this movie. What intrigues me most. Is that it's a true story. Plus, I think this is Kate's first feature film. It's good to see where she all started and how much potential she had from the very beginning. From this to finally being an Oscar winner. Anyone else have a favorite scene? __________________

Add me! This is def one of my favorite Kate movies. It was on tv this weekend! And I watched it for the first time in awhile, and I loved it just as much. The story is both distubring and beautiful, and Kate is completely brilliant in her character.. as she always is.
The murder scene is the one that sticks in my mind. Just the sounds coming from the mother when she is being beaten to death.. I mean I can only imagine what shock she must of went through, being completely oblivious of what was going to happen seconds before. It was just very realistic. The music, the screams, it was all just creepy and really sad. __________________

& it's definitely more shocking because it's based on a true story, it's a twisted tale of obsession and teenage angst taken to the extreme. I love the 'dream' world they created within the film though, even if it was scary. __________________

Depressing, indeed. But what better way to spend a dreary, rainy Easter holiday day, than inside with a good movie?

It is depressing and disturbing . I think Kate as always did awesome. Every performance is so special in its own right.

To think that this was actually her movie debut just astounds me. So much incredible talent from the get-go. I started watching the movie last night, but to quell any possible nightmares, I decided to hold off on watching the rest later. Haven't seen it in such a long time...

It is depressing but in an intriguing way. I have yet to see another movie like this one.. it's just hits you hard even after watching it several times. <3 __________________

I saw an interview with Anne Perry (formerly Juliet Hulme) on YT. The woman is 70 years old or something now, I believe, so to imagine what she was a part of back in the 50's is just... __________________
