Hi, you guys, I just joined Fan Forum today. I only discovered TBBT in the last year or so, when I devoured the first three seasons in under a week, and I have been absolutely loving season four. So, yeah, basically, I am addicted and perhaps mildly obsessed. Whatever. What's important is that I am not the only one, yay!

I am shipping Shamy like whoa. Mr. Spock was my first real crush (ooh, and David Bowie as Jareth in Labyrinth), so I totally dig Sheldon because he is more or less a cutie-pie nerd version of Spock.

I completely understand why folks might be apprehensive to embrace a romantic relationship between Sheldon and Amy, mostly because heretofore, Sheldon has shown little interest in having a romantic relationship with anyone. But then Amy comes along and engages him academically and socially, and, lo, now his interests are continuing to broaden, and suddenly he's closing his eyes when she kisses him. Fascinating, indeed!

And I freaking adore Amy. I have just loved seeing her loosen up. She was this uptight, awkward, nervous little thing when they first met, but she has just been so down for whatever this season (and most especially these last few episodes), that I just can't get enough of her. Mayim Bialik has always been one of my faves, and her deadpan line delivery on this show is the best.

So, yeah, just wanted to introduce myself by writing a longish essay, say hey, and thank you all for posting about Shamy!

Until Amy showed up I was so, SO opposed to Sheldon having anyone who was even remotely in the girlfriend department. The other posters will confirm this in an instant. But now? I'm digging the Shamy.
