I wanted to share E4's promo for season 9 (which starts tonight) but couldn't find it online anywhere. So I made my own makeshift recording, and after about 3 hours managed to upload it to YouTube.

I think I'm over that now. God knows what the UK viewers make of it. I'm just bracing myself to go through the premiere again. And I've just seen they're showing the S8 finale immediately before - I haven't watched them together yet. That's going to be quite a roller coaster.

This belongs in the Shamy thread but I can't double post.
This is awful! Half way through the S8 finale on TV. After that first scene I realised how absolutely ridiculous this whole break up thing is! Seriously! No wonder Sheldon is confused and all of us too. To get from there to where they are now… I have one question: why the heck did Amy not attempt to talk to Sheldon at all about whatever it was that was bothering her before taking such a serious decision? Why? So out of character. She didn't even explain herself when she said she wanted a step back. She gave no reasons whatsoever. That's just not on.

My first thought on seeing this episode: this is their last kiss. What if it's their last kiss ever? I don't understand anything anymore. Nothing in the world makes any sense.



Sorry. Rant over, for now.


ETA: Okay, so she kind of said something, but I don't count that as an explanation. And Sheldon didn't understand it at all.
Even the announcer said "Oh, Sheldon!"

Right, so I feel like I understand Amy losing her temper when Sheldon insulted her in the premiere. But immediately she expressed doubts: "I just hope I did the right thing." It stretches belief that she hasn't spoken calmly and honestly to Sheldon yet, after she calmed down. And Bernie, Stuart and Howard were all immediately saying things like she's got lots to offer, and she's escaped from her captor, and other things totally inappropriate at that moment. Rant definitely over now, for today.

Your troubles are completely understandable I also wonder what's gotten into the writers' heads this season regarding their decisions about the breakup but we gotta stay strong! The more we angst the stronger our feels will be once they reconcile

I don't know what's gotten into me but I'm feeling oddly patient and positive this evening My mood swings have been kind to me

That mashup is fun, but a little disorienting. Whenever I see something like that, I wonder about the person(s) who spent hours finding clips for each word.
