I added that 'little buddy' to the OP last night. Also last night was a great example of Sheldon/Leonard 'Schrodinger's friendship!' because honestly they are back and forth all the time anyway.

Yeah, they really are, although technically Schrodinger's Friendship would just be what Sheldon was doing last night, with the love/hate at the same time, rather than other times when they're in either absolute state.

I believe yesterday when Leonard comes back to the apartment the second time and Sheldon rushes towards him excitedly, saying 'oh good, you picked me, you picked me', might be one of the all-time sweetest L/S moments. Behind his snarky exterior, Schrodinger or not, Sheldon so clearly DOES care!

That's very true, it was so sweet. I was like "AWWW!" When that happened.

And yeah, Jim is brilliant, but it's the writing too. We can't just give any actor credit for what he does with the lines - they have to be there too, so KUDOS from me to the writers as well!

Absolutely! And I love Jim even more because he points that out in each and every interview when he's ever praised, refusing to take any credit.

Yeah, that moment was so sweet. I think this is my favourite episode for their friendship, though there are other moments of L/S that I love from other episodes. Like in the Middle Earth Paradigm and Sheldon has Leonard's back facing Kurt.

Another of my favorites is Toast Derivation. I love Sheldon's realization that he needs Leonard and the others, and Leonard's realization that he misses Sheldon; following which, when Sheldon comes back to them, Leonard observes all his antics with such tolerant smiling affection!

"What is he doing here? Besides disrupting the local gravity field." "If he were any bigger, he'd have moon orbiting him." "Oh! Snap."

Any quote always makes me feel like going back and watching that episode again!

This one had some lovely L/P moments too.

And that "Oh! Snap." is my favourite part of that dialogue!

I feel he's putting in some inspired performances in a few scenes, this season.. I loved his expressions when he was going awkward with Amy in the living room, and in the Skype scene with Priya.

Yeah I did too but how is it that Jim is allowed so much variety with his character but Leonard seems to be grounded?

Maybe being the straight man hedges him in a little, he has to be more subtle and 'normal' and is often the observer of events and other people. He can't go wild, or express his emotions in zany ways, as Sheldon can.
