If you don't like that the threads display the newest posts first, you can change that.

Up in the top, on the left, click on the UserCP button. In the menu that appears on the left, scroll down to Settings & Options, then click on Edit Options. On that page, scroll about 2/3 of the way down to Thread Display Options. Find the option Thread Display Mode and select Linear - Oldest First from the dropdown. Scroll all the way to the bottom and click Save Changes. Of course, you may want to take a moment to check out the other options and see if there are other things you want to play with. Be aware that some things, including the ability to use a custom avatar and create a signature, are not available until you have 100 posts.

One thing - if you change this, you (like me) will be set up opposite of most other folks. So if you post a link to a page from a thread instead of an individual post, other folks may not see what you want them to. It's not a huge deal, as mostly we quote posts or link directly to posts by post number, not pages. But I've had it happen on rare occasions that someone provided me a page number to find something and what she wanted me to find wasn't on that page the way my threads are sorted.

Is that right, because I changed mine not too long back because it seemed like everyone else had it that way (oldest first)? When I first came to the Forum those Person Above Me/Below Me games confused all heck out of me, because I was reading the wrong way. Then people sometimes use ^ or say 'the post above me', and it always used to be backwards for me before I changed the set up.

Anyway, while we're on this, could you tell me what is the correct way to post a link to a new thread? I always just copy the address in the web browser - should I be linking to the OP as an individual post?
