Penny's remark is something I've definitely noticed that both she and Sheldon do. Assume that everyone thinks of something the way they do, even if it's the furthest thing from the truth. I don't take it seriously and just take it as a trait that those two characters share.
After all, we already know that she wants to resist enjoying things that her friends like and ends up liking them anyway. That has happened between her and the guys from the beginning of the series. __________________
