Some shows would go all out with that kind of stuff - HIMYM for example, if they dropped a phone number or a website in an episode it was almost always something you could call or message and get an automated show response back, the most famous likely being tedmosbyisajerk.com.

Plus, for what it's worth, as we've been going through the episodes for the podcast I've recently noticed that the random URLs they've mentioned are all owned by WB. I'm guessing they probably claimed that email address, even though they didn't do anything with it, just so no one else would have it.
