Wow you two gals had fun things to do this weekend a splash pad sounds cool....never heard of one.

My weekend was more busy with a little fun and a lot of busy with a little stress.

Met with both builders....2 hr meetings answering the mens questions..They were both good. We will feel bad telling the one he lost the project.

Very long story short...we did end up using my guy ( well my brothers) and will be starting the demolition Oct 2 with the asbestos removal.

Took bro and sister in law out to dinner Wednesday.

Went to a demolition sale Thursday ( just to meet the man that owns the business cause they are doing ours....anyway we went because it was of a 7 million dollar house and all contents ( contents $ made going to Habitat for Humanity) this place was unreal....everything costume

Stopped at Lizs on the way home yesterday and helped with the kids while Liz packed and stuff for their trip; They are flying to Nashville today to visit Walters family and see the eclipse ( total one there) Left around 8:30 got home around 9:30 pm to find that the cat Santana had died while we were gone he had been declining the last few months...kidney failure but he was acting pretty ok when we left. We know I was conflicted about him because he had issues but still hard to find him dead and having died alone. Podad really liked him and is more sad than me. Jeesh......I have had way more than enough of death

Hi Everyone!

I'm sooo sorry for being sooo MIA. R/L has been taking it's toll on me, and has been keeping me away from here. It's just one thing after the other, and it's happened again! I didn't want to come here and keep writing about my problems, so I stayed away, but I would lurk sometimes just to see my friends as I miss you terribly! But as I said it's happened again! And if I keep staying away because of all the problems I keep having, then I'd never be back, so I decided to come and say HI and just tell you about my latest problem. Sorry to bore you with it.

I went to aquatic therapy for the 1st time last Wednesday, and did some minor exercises, which were very minor if you ask me. I just walked across the pool back and forth 2 times, and then the instructor had me do it sideways back and forth. Then she had me rest a few minutes, but being weightless in nice warm water, I was feeling great, and my back was hardly hurting, so for me, I was doing Great! Then she had me sit on the stairs still in the water, and pretend to ride a bike with my legs for a little while. That was a bit harder on my back, but she didn't have me do it too long, and then the session was over. I felt great until I had to get out of the water! As soon as I got out of the water, I felt like I instantly gained a thousand pounds!!! I could barely walk!!! That was a rude awakening! I wanted to go back into the water and never leave! But unfortunately that couldn't happen, so I sucked it up and dragged myself and got dressed and went home. I felt a bit sore over the next couple of days, but nothing major, so that was good I thought.

Well, Saturday morning I woke up with a NUMB Left leg! I freaked! I waited to call my Dr at home till 8 am, and he answered right away, thank goodness! I told him what was going on with me and he told me that he was having clinic that day starting at 12 noon, and to meet him there at 12. So I went, and it turns out, that with doing the water therapy, I have swelling in my spine, and the swelling caused a pinched nerve and caused the numbness! He gave me an Rx for Ibuprofen 800 mg three time a day, and he said that should help with the swelling. Also, I was to go and lie flat on my back with my feet up again, and to make sure I iced my back too! UGH! So I'm back, stuck on the couch AGAIN! (sigh) Oh! And he did tell me NOT to stop the water therapy! My next session is next week, and then they will start me on them 2 times a week, for 8 weeks! Of course, that's only if my body cooperates and doesn't turn to stone!

Biggest Hugs,
Have Missed You All!!!
Wen

WEN........we are so pleased to hear from and never worry about sharing your problems. Sometimes it helps to talk about them to others. The aquatic therapy sounds wonderful, except for the swelling and pinched nerve. That was really a scare for you.

I am exhausted after watching the three year olds celebrate Piper's birthday party. All of that energy they have, and all I did was sit and watch them.

Hi Keepsmiling! Thank you for saying that you don't mind me sharing my problems. You are very kind.
Oh! I know what you mean about a 3 year old's energy! If we could bottle it and sell it, we'd be muti-millionaires!

Brayden had his little cousin, who is also 3, at his birthday party, and they just never stopped! LOL! They had a blast at the party! And Melissa has a child size table and chair set for Brayden and she put his and his cousin's food on it, all finger foods such as: celery stick, carrot sticks, apple slices, little blocks of cheese, little blocks of ham, pickles, olives, cherry tomatoes, there was a ton of stuff, and it was like drive by eating with them two, But when it came time for the cake, that's when she told them that they had to sit down to eat it, or else they couldn't have it. Well they sat right down to eat the cake! He was so cute and I'm sure Piper was sooo cute too!

Poddy, I'm so sorry to hear that Santana passed away. :'(
I hope everything is going well with you and your family. And I hope the couple that you are working with will agree with what you want with your new Beach House.

MyrnaLynne, I hope you had a Wonderful time at the Wedding and Family Party!!! And I hope you had a Wonderfully Safe trip too! I can't wait to hear all about it!

Got to go lie back on the couch... Dr's orders... UGH!

Biggest Hugs,
Wen

Oh my gosh Wen I thought that water therapy would be great for you, and instead it pinched a nerve! I thought of you this weekend, as we swam in my brother-in-law's pool (ahh, it was so warm and nice) but when I had to climb out, I did feel like I weighed 500 lbs! Nice to be weightless for awhile! Anyway, I'm glad you came back here because you were missed! I've been letting people here know what was up with you/why you have been away now and then too, hope that was okay.

My nephew's son Jaxon, the almost 2, never stops. He is just go, go go, walking around, running around all the time. His poor tired mother (who is pregnant with boy #2, due around Jason's birthday! :>) She has her hands full. Just realizing how high energy the guys in Mr ML's family are and I guess this little guy inherited that too.

My niece's son Will is also almost 2, but not as big as his cousin and more shy. Neither kid was talking much; I don't remember when they start talking. John's niece just turned 2 (or was it 3?) and she watches Doc McStuffins cartoon and she has a toy stethascope and she checked Mlette and said "Your diagnosis is.. boo-boo band-aids!" LOL, what 2 year old says 'diagnosis'? I think my son's first sentence, around 18 months, was "Momma, you got legs!" (I had on a dress for the first time - LOL) My other niece's 2 older kids were at the party, a boy 7 and a girl 9, and she was playng the 'little mother' and watching the little motorized guy zoom around, making sure he didn't come to any harm.

Oh Poddy so sorry to hear about Santana passing away while you were gone - what a shock.

And happy birthday to Piper keepsmiling, yes, the kids are exhausting! That splash place sounds like the perfect place for a kids party!

Wen We are so excited and happy to see your pixels here!!!!

You must never ever feel that you telling us about hard things going on in your life or body are ever boring!! We love you and care and of course like keepsmiling said off loading with friends is good for your mental and physical health so please don't let that stop you from posting here. We understand that you have to lay flat and keep your legs up as much as you can unfortunately but whenever you can please keep us posted. I will be praying bout this swelling in your back and really hope that your back gets used to the pool therapy so you can keep having that relief!! That is one of the big reasons I love swimming...all my fat floating and making me feel so light!! I am like a cork

keepsmiling you and Wens little ones party's sounded so fun and sweet! I am still so grateful that little Brayden is healthy and happy and never stopping moving!

Sounds like a nice weekend for you ML with the family and in the pool!!

I am off to Lizs.....I will get to their house at the same time they get home from the airport from their Nashville family/eclipse trip. Today they have something to do with Anna Lee and school so I will be watching the other two plus taking food so she doesn't have to cook after all this travel with 3 kids :O

I agree with keepsmiling, your kids are lucky to have such a thoughtful and helpful mother Podmom! Glad they are (almost) back from Nashville.

Ahh, the humidity let up, and weather is beautiful here. Not so beautiful near Houston, my friend just told me a category 1 hurricane is heading in that direction and going to be stuck over Texas, dumping tons of rain water. Hope my son (and everyone else in Texas) is okay!

Yes I too hope our Texas pps are ok!

Isn't it wonderful to have this cooler weather ML! What a relief...I could be outside with the kids this week which is very helpful.

I am very grateful to have Liz and fam in PA but when I am a baby I wish I didn't have to drive an hour or more every time I go there. It gets old sometimes but when I have to drive 2 hrs plus to Emily I will be even more weary of driving. I KNOW it could be a plane ride so I mostly don't complain.

SO now pacing up computer to go to OC....sign and pay first huge instalment on the new Haven. I guess after Chuck pays his?he might have already...it is kinda a done deal we will stay there four days. Grace and I have trouble being apart when I am gone she is always asking for me which is nice to hear and a pain for Liz.

ok signing off

ML.......hope your son is okay in Cypress. My daughter and family feel they'll be okay with this big storm. I do have a granddaughter in Lake Jackson, right on the coast. She won't come to either her mother's house or ours because she doesn't want to leave her cat.

So far my son is okay, thank G-d. Although he wedged both cars in the garage to keep them out of the storm and now he's not sure he'll ever get the cars out again!
It's raining but that seems to be it, so far, in Cypress. As long as the power stays on, they should be fine. Today is their dog Luna's 4th birthday. She's a big dog!

Stubborn kids are such a worry keepsmiling - she could put the cat in a cat carrier and vamoose!

If you watch the weather coverage, you'd think it was the End of the World!

Aw so sweet Grace loves her Grandma. For some reason, John's niece in Indiana just loves my daughter - she remembers her in her prayers and everything. So cute!

ML..........my daughter and family in Cypress are fine, except they can't get out. Water has flooded all major roads in the surrounding areas. They are in the Bridgeland area. My granddaughter in Lake Jackson might be heading this way after all. They have lifted the blockade for a short time and the only road open will be to Austin. She has been without power for 2 days now and they think it will be about three days before service is restored.
So far we have received over 7 inches of rain. I thought this would be a good time to turn of the sprinkler system.....(ha)

My son and DIL are in Bridgeland too! They were very clever when they built that place, with all the deep ponds and bridges over them. They must have used the dirt from the ponds to raise the level of the home sites above the roads, and in the floods, those ponds have caught most of the rain, but in this storm they are full to the top already and there is some water in the streets, but same thing, they are stuck in the house, can't go anywhere, as the roads around them are flooded. My son said last night their house is okay, unless the water level rises another 4-5 feet.

Meanwhile, Florida is getting socked with rain too! I talked to my Dad yesterday and he said he was all right. There is flooding in my friend's neighborhood in Sarasota, too, but again, her house is a bit more elevated than some of her neighbors (who have 2 feet of water in their houses).

Glad you are okay in Austin keepsmiling, wow that is such a giant storm system, covering about half of Texas I think. Houston seems to flood every time there is a heavy rain, but with this amoun of rain, the flooding is ridiculous. I wish this storm system would move out and let everybody dry out and get their lives going again/rebuild.

I'm glad that so far your people are relatively ok keepsmiling and ML I hope your granddaughter made it to your house keepsmiling it is so hot in Texas in august and to be without air conditioning would be SO hard. We didn't even have huge damage with Sandy but just that much took a lot of physical labor and hassle and arranging for carpet removal as fast as you can and on and on. We prepared I think a lot of these people didn't do that because their places seemed far away from flooding.

We have been in OC ...weather cool which has been nice in one way ( windows open cool breezes) but not great beach wise. Had one nice swim and that is it. Too windy and rough. Doing bits of business but mostly relaxing.

I'm struggling emotionally knowing my brothers prognosis isn't great and unless God intervenes he only has one to 3 or so years left. That is hard for me to even imagine and especially difficult given the loss of my sister.

Heading home tomorrow.
