I’m trying to watch the results while I’m sitting here.
I did not bring chargers, and my iPad is at 14%…I’m in trouble.

Someone please explain to me how states vote to uphold a woman’s right to choose while voting in senators/representatives that will actively work to strip them of their rights. I honestly don’t understand how some people think.

They don't care who is in there.

I'm off for the next four days. I was supposed to dog sit but they cancelled because they were going to Florida but now there is another hurricane coming so they didn't go. I'm kind of bummed because I could us the extra money. But I do have a lot of things to get done so now I won't have to worry about another dog.

Speaking of... my brother/niece and I had a miscommunication about Scoobs today. He was alone for 7 hours which I know some dogs are used to but Scoobs is not. I felt so bad for him. I'm sure he just slept the whole time but still... I felt bad.

I feel like it's late for a hurricane but I guess hurricane season is through November. I have a client who canceled their appointment because they were going to Florida and then said, well, maybe not because of the hurricane. Though they said they could check into their flight, so they're still flying in.

I hate leaving Griz alone for a long period of time too. I know he's a total lazy bum and he sleeps all day anyway and he has the cats with him, but during covid he got so spoiled. Before covid I'd take him to daycare a few days a week but he's getting older and I feel like did exactly what I did during covid, came out of it less social.

I'm super happy with what happened in Michigan last night, both the Senate and House were flipped to Democrat and that's the first time that's happened in my lifetime. All the props passed and our governor was re-elected and the only thing that worries me about how well things went last night is that if Biden doesn't run, she's going to be up there with candidates running for President in two years.

Speaking of dogs…Pippa ran out the front door today when I came back inside from grabbing my youngest from the bus stop. I made the mistake of letting my daughter crack open the door and grab a hold of her but she didn’t have a good grip on her and she got out. Luckily, I was able to grab a hold of her (by the foot & she squealed like crazy) but in doing so I slammed my knee into the concrete and it hurt like hell. I put ice on it this afternoon but I expect it to be bruised pretty bad. I’m going to have put Pippa in her crate from now on to just walk around the corner to the bus stop because it’s not worth her getting loose again.

Olaf was very spoiled with the girls home through COVID. Since then, he has learned to run around barking at me anytime I leave the house. It’s super annoying and pretty loud.

Gen Z saved our a**es this election. I read somewhere that only 25% of them actually voted but it made such a huge impact and they are mad as hell with the current state of our country so I expect they will come out stronger in “24.

I didn’t take voting seriously as a teen either but it’s hard to ignore now with having women’s rights stripped away. Hopefully, your N & N understand just how important their vote is in the future.

Go Michigan for turning completely blue!!!! Whitmer is awesome & definitely a rising star in the party.

Our state just went under redistricting under the guidance of a Bipartisan committee so it is genuinely hard to tell exactly how much that aided in us turning so blue because we've been "purple", a very divided state for awhile now. I'm just so happy about Prop 3 passing and it's also hard to deny that turnout for the younger generation didn't have to do with the fact that abortion rights were on the ticket here.

Gen Z came out and voted though for sure. The numbers at our campuses were crazy because you can register to vote on election day , kids were in line for upward of 6 hours to vote. But some of the numbers coming out of the University of Michigan...96% voted for our Democratic governor. The GOP is in trouble if that's a trend nation wide.

The worst feeling is when your dog gets out. It's my worst nightmare. I never let Griswold out without a leash at home, but that's much harder to do when I'm up at the lake at our cottage. There are always other dogs up there coming with guests and he's in and out of the lake so I'll let him off his leash and he listens for the most part but if one of the other dogs takes off he'll go with them. Luckily it's usually my cousins' dog, Stella, and she's a German Shepherd and super smart and will always come back right away when called.

My outside black cat that I got into a rescue went to that foster to adopt situation and they finally officially adopted her last week. She's sleeping in bed with them and the perfect inside cat. I joke that I should have traded her in for Duke, because he's so aloof with me and she was always so lovey. I would never trade in one of my pets but if he's being extra sassy with me I'll throw it out there. You could have been traded in. I'll also tell him I'm sending him to my parents because for whatever reason he LOVES them.

I'm definitely disappointed with N&N about voting, especially the female one. lol Not only because of women's issues but she works from home and literally has no excuse. There were a few Tweets saying, "Gen Z saved our asses," and I sent them to her saying , "Except you." I'm actually surprised my brother let her get away with it. My parents didn't vote either. I mean, it doesn't matter too much in New Jersey, we are usually always Blue, but that's not the point. I'm sure they would vote for Governor or President but it's their committees and Congress that matter. We are going to have to have a Civics lesson.

Scoobs getting out is my worse nightmare. Actually him being attacked by another dog is the worst but that's second. He's a runner. He'd probably come if I called him now at this age, but I'm afraid to test it. Can you take Pippa on the leash with you to the bus stop? Today it is pouring rain and I just took him out in his raincoat. So cute, but he hates it. Scoobs was with my brother and his family for the beginning months of Covid. He was in his glory but I was so sad without him. At the beginning I was terrified that I could get it from him if one of them had it and touched him. It was a month before I got to see him in person. But we Facetimed every night. haha He definitely is not used to be alone anymore.

I'm watching the Kardashians on Hulu. I know they are ridiculous but I do enjoy them.

Ugh. Every time I go to log on to this website, I realize I forgot to log out the last time so I'm still logged in. It makes it look like I never leave here.
BTW..I love the header pics on this thread. I REALLY need to start watching FNL. I know it was a long time ago, but I still need to watch it.

I can't believe you never watched FNL! Taylor is like a whole other person... he looks so young.

I never log out. Not sure what you mean.

I never log out either.

OM and I went to the University’s Madrigal Dinner Thursday night. We had a ticket for Baby M, he didn’t feel up to it. OMG! It was so so so good! They’ve done it every year for 41 years. Alumni even come back to participate. The students write, direct, produce the entire program.

OM has so much homework. Her week has been very off it’s routine and now she’s got Baby M’s sniffles. She has one last shoot to assist with tomorrow and then she’s done with this project.

It finally got cold!! It rained yesterday and a cold front brought the temp into the 40s! Today is gorgeous with a high of 55. I am so happy!

I usually put Christmas up the weekend after Thanksgiving. Also, we are usually not home for Thanksgiving. This year we will be here and I’m itchy to put up Christmas NOW. The kids said no. Then they said, okay…but no tree until after. Now, I’m not sure what I want to do.

I do leave it all up until January 6th. So, maybe I wait.

I’ve got to work on my photo project, it’s all over my table. I have zero desire to work on this.

I may have to figure out what to do with my plants tonight. They were fine last night, but it might be cooler tonight. I love the cooler temps, but my plants need it warmer. The kitties LOVE when I bring them inside. They think playing in the dirt is soooo fun.

It was in the 70s two days ago but is snowing today. I don't mind the snow, I just wish that it would decide if it wants to stay warm or stay cold. I like knowing I can wake up every morning knowing I can wear a sweater, jacket and boots and not be over dressed and too hot in the afternoon.

The outside cat house had to be put out today since it'll go down into the teens next week and if my feral outside stray wants to hang around and go into a little heated house then I want him to have that option. Last winter my former outside cat that was adopted used it all the time.

I ordered the two turkeys for Thanksgiving and then will have to do two separate turkey breasts that I'll cook the night before, I don't remember having a lot of leftover turkey last year and want to make sure that doesn't happen again.

I'll do Christmas the day after Thanksgiving. Last year was the first year I went and got the tree the day after Thanksgiving but it held its needles really well until I took it down into January, which was always my worry that a real tree wouldn't hold up that long.

For some reason I went to bed super late last night, just couldn't sleep and then was up at like 6:45 and feel fine today. I have no idea why I'm always ready to get up at an ungodly hour when I don't have to be up. I was ready to sleep in and my alarm went off while I was almost out the door to start errands.

It's 70 here today. I've been cleaning and organizing today, but am heading out soon to go to a soccer game.

I finally finished Season 3 of Below Deck, but now I am done with the show.. there are million more seasons and spin offs, but I feel like it's the same thing over and over again. I'm finishing Dune finally. Definitely not my type of movie but as you know I am a Chalamet fangirl. I think I'm over my Rami Malek phase... I think it was just the whole Freddie Mercury thing. Still plugging away on my rewatch of Vampire Diaries, FNL, and West Wing and Only Murders in the Building. Stopped my Harry Potter-a-thon for awhile.

Is OM graduating college in less than 4 years? I feel like she just started.

It got up to 66 here today but today and last night we got hit with the remnants of hurricane Nicole.
My hubby got me into Below Deck because he had it on thinking it was all about these super yachts that people could buy, but then I got hooked on the show and all it's spin offs. Stupid hubby.
I like Rami Malek. He was amazing in Bohemian Rhapsody and deserved the academy award. I've never had a thing for him though. I think it's his eyes that undo it for me. He just has those eyes that look like they are bulging out.

To be honest, I had never even heard of FNL before "rediscovering" Taylor. Like I said, I knew him from Battleship quite a while back and thought he was handsome but I probably had a crush on someone else at the time (I'm a one crush on one actor at a time kinda girl). I developed a major crush (and my longest crush on an actor) back in 2015. It was Tom Hiddleston after seeing him as Loki again. That lasted a long time. (too long) Now I look at him and honestly don't see what I saw in him. Battleship was once again on tv 2-3 months ago and I relooked at Taylor and thought OMG! And here we are. Down the rabbit hole again. Now I'm watching everything I can get my hands on. The only thing I think I can't watch is his short Pieces. I can't find it anywhere.

G- I am so jealous that you’re going to experience FNL for the 1st time. It was such a great show & Taylor is so good in it. Please share your thoughts after watching the pilot or any of the episodes.

I just spent today taking down all of my fall decorations and starting to put up Xmas. Once Halloween is over then I’m ready for the holidays. I will wait until Thanksgiving weekend to put up our trees but everything else will be ready to go. I have so much decor that for as long as it takes to put up, I just want to get as much out of it before taking it down. I love this time of year (minus the cold) and just want to soak all the coziness of the season in.

I used to take the dogs up to the bus stop but it’s such a hassle getting them harnessed and leashed to just go around the corner that I gave up. I also hate leaving one of the dogs behind and taking the other so until Pippa chills out she can sit in her crate for a few minutes.

We dropped the dogs off yesterday to a doggy daycare while we went up north for the day and when we picked them up they were exhausted. From the videos the sitter sent me, Pippa did nothing but run after other dogs and get chased so no wonder she was wiped out. She’s currently passed out on the couch beside the cat sharing a blanket. They are so cute together that I can’t stand it.

I discovered this afternoon that Pippa has been chewing on our light cords. I went to turn on my floor lamp tonight and it wouldn’t come on because she’s chewed the wire just below the plug. Ughhh!!!! I’ve never had a dog that chews or tears up things so it’s aggravating and scary. I ordered some no chew spray and my husband is fixing the plug tomorrow but does anyone have any other suggestions to get her to stop? I’m scared she’s going to hurt herself if she continues doing this.

K- I hope OM feels better soon. My oldest is sick right now and this happened after her class took a field trip on Thursday. She was fine when she left and came home with a sore throat that has progressed to coughing and congestion. She’s also super grouchy so it’s been a LONG weekend.

Yay to kitty on her forever home!!!

I never log out on here but I wouldn’t worry about it.

If I didn't host Thanksgiving I'd move right into Christmas stuff. I might try and do the Christmas lights next weekend, depending on the temperature. I should have done it when it was in the 70s earlier this week.

I was supposed to go to Chicago next weekend for a friendsgiving on Friday but I have too much going on at work and I need to do a deep clean of the house next weekend.

How old is Pippa again? Griswold was so chewy when he was a puppy, maybe even until he was like a year and a half. I called him the land shark he would chew on you, chew on anything. Redirect with toys and plenty of chewy bones. Nyla bones and Benebones were my go to with Griz. Kongs with peanut butter... is she in a cage when you guys are gone?

I know it's hard to watch them all the time, it's like having a toddler.

My outside feral, I call him/her Tabby, was right in the heated house last night and this morning. This one is truly feral, hisses at me every time I come outside but doesn't really leave the porch any more so they at least know at this point that I provide food and won't hurt them.

I started watching the new season of The Crown and it's meh so far. Diana is obviously the most compelling part of the story and the Queen is actually more of an afterthought, which might be good because the actress who is playing her just isn't doing it for me. Maybe it's because Helen Mirren was so perfect in this era for The Queen movie it's hard not to compare.
