I still haven't turned the heat on though it got down into the 20's last night. It's snowing right now. I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and just do it.

We are officially entering my least favorite part of the year, falling an hour behind, getting dark at 5:00 p.m. Ugh, it makes me so depressed.

I'm sorry about the losses of your friend's parents, those are always tough.

A friend of mine from college that went to live in Milwaukee knew this girl that was murdered. I met her a few times when I was in Milwaukee visiting my friend, she was such a sweet girl, they worked at Lululemon together. Her story is on 48 Hours tonight.

I was terrified of thunderstorms and tornados as a kid. There were a few close calls that traumatized me and it took me a long time to get over it. We get really bad storms off the lake up at our cottage and the structure up there before we rebuilt the house was not great. We were in there once, a storm came off the lake, not a tornado but a wall cloud and I remember it being so bad my parents were lying over the top of us because it was so windy they were worried the roof was going to blow off. Add to the fact that we have no internet/service/TV up there you're kind of in the dark. If there's a tornado they'll blow the siren, but the siren is also used for the volunteer fire department, so a lot of times you're just guessing what the siren might be for.

Good lord.

I'm watching The King on Netflix. I'm underwhelmed by the movie, but of course I think Timothee is awesome. My friend, however, thinks it's awesome and he keeps yelling at me for not paying attention. lol It takes a great movie to hold my attention. I will have to watch it again when I'm not distracted.

The King keeps coming up in my recommendations along with Fracture...I'm watching Collateral right now with Carey Mulligan on Netflix. I love her accent. If I could choose any accent to have it would be hers.

Yeah, it's sad. I was watching to see if my friend would show up but she just had a baby recently and now lives in Texas so I'm going to guess she wasn't up for appearing on National TV, but she was in all her Facebook pictures. I forgot she's still in Kelly's facebook profile picture.

I have skimmed through this thread but I've probably missed loads.

I watched the first couple of episodes of Schitt's Creek but I gave up. Maybe I'll go back to it. We're watching the Good Place together and I almost screamed when maya Rudolph's character mentioned FNL!

I started Pretty Little Liars last week and I am OBSESSED!

I finally started season 3 of This is Us last week too. I love it.

We took the girls for a weekend away to York last weekend. York is gorgeous but the girls were wicked so it was pretty stressful!

I never finished Pretty Little Liars, but those early seasons are so good. I always laugh when I'm called "A" on here because of that show.

I'm trying to get some things done around the house every weekend as Thanksgiving isn't that far away and I'm hosting, per usual. I ordered a bunch of new rugs. I swear, rugs are too expensive. I love having wood floors throughout almost the entire house, but, the cost of rugs, man. I ended up getting some Ruggable rugs for the kitchen, I'm interested to see how they hold up since they're washable.

I had a really stressful day at work last week that resulted in me just walking out, I was put in a situation I'd expressed concern over and got no feedback from my boss about it and no support and what happened was exactly what I thought was going to happen. So I left. I was surprised that he was more concerned about me than the situation, that was refreshing, but I think he thinks I'm going to quit. He's been checking in and being more polite. I just hate that it takes a situation like that to open a superiors eyes.

Maybe this is a good time to talk to him about all the concerns you have.

I watched that 48 Hours. That was crazy. Clearly he did it and he should have just called the police right away because it wasn't intentional. Apparently she was okay with having masochistic sex since she kept going back to him. He still would have been put in jail but the charges would have been lesser. The cover up was what makes him a total psychopath. I felt bad for his mom.

The issue is that I've talked to him and expressed my issues with some of my work responsibilities, which technically shouldn't be my responsibility but are now falling on me, and it's fallen on deaf ears. So...I always have a performance review in December so I'll have to think about how to broach the subject with him.

Yeah, she clearly was into the sex acts and whether it was a drug overdose or a rough sex act that killed her that was an accident, the covering it up and disposing of her body, the child pornography and drug use...what he did to her may have been an accident but he had some messed up stuff going on too.

I got a new rug for my studio and the ends keep curling up. I have these sticky triangles to help hold the corners down, but so far, nada.

That’s not cool. I hate that for you.

So the Ruggables come with a velcro/sticky underside that you can remove the rug from to wash, it's a pain in the ass to put it on the velcro piece and keep it straight, but they do not roll, I will say that.

At least this week started off with good news. My cousin who has leukemia is in remission but still has to have monthly maintenance chemo for the next two years. He's in the Air Force and they've been attempting to medically retire him, because he can't be deployed because he's still undergoing chemo. He had lost two appeals and had to appeal to the Secretary of the Air Force and he won his appeal today, he overturned the ruling and my cousin was reinstated. That poor kid needed a break. I understand he's not deployable but with his job within the Air Force he'd never be deployed, he'd stay in DC so I'm glad someone was sensible about this. It feels like he just graduated from the Academy and really it's only been two years, he wants his career to remain in service.

That’s great news!

Today has been crazy busy. In a good way. Last minute details for tomorrow’s opening. I’m doing a grand opening event Friday and Saturday. I’m so tired. Pitch black by 5:30 doesn’t help me!

So excited for you ... its good to be crazy busy in a good way!!!! The time change does kinda suck. I'd so much rather it be darker later in the morning than darker later at night. I got home tonight at 7pm and it felt like 9pm.

I really need to work on keeping up with this more I'm literally slightly so far behind it's not funny.

What kind of rugs do you guys have? We have concrete tile flooring in one portion of our house, which is the first I've ever seen for a kitchen/dining/hallway area. And I'm guessing it's gonna be a hell of a B to bring up if we ever wanted to put new flooring down. At this point, I don't even know where to start TO bring it up if I wanted to. The price for rugs though is insane even for like a little foot rug. But we have rag rugs, and they have yet to curl up since the past 2 years, but they slip a lot because we have nothing underneath them.

Amanda - that's amazing news about your cousin for being in remission, and Awe I'm glad he can stay in the Air Force! That's also good news that he caught a break there.

Kayla - If I'm not mistaken I read somewhere that you live in Texas? Where about? I'm just curious now cause you said it gets dark for you by 5:30 and that's about the same for me! It's crazy just a couple of days ago it was dark "One hour later" it threw me for a loop for a little when I asked Alexa what time sunset was Saturday and she said almost 6 and for Sunday it was 4-5.
