Confession time... I've never been in a Trader Joe's. I know. I know. I've seen them, driven past them, read about them... even have the book about them... never been inside. I'm pretty sure they have one or two in ATX. I'll have to see. A friend posted all the pumpkin things the other day and it did look fantastic.

Chick-fil-a AKA Jesus Chicken is quite the food of the people here in the Bible belt. I love their spicy chicken sandwich, chicken biscuits, and chicken minis. Not a fan of the grilled chicken items, although, they are gluten-free and that was a big deal when I ate GF. I still didn't like them, but it was FF I could partake in. The minions like the Polynesian sauce. The chick fil a sauce is a trash panda. Sorry if that's your fav A.

OM's math professor is taking the class on a field trip Thursday to the museum of art located on campus. He asked them to invite friends and family. So, Baby Minion and I are going! We can hang out at the museum while she does her other classes and then we can all take the train home. Baby M hasn't been on the train yet. A new adventure for him!

Also discussing fall, mums, movies, and the weird weather... I mean nothing says fall like 94!

Thanks for the new thread!

I go to Trader Joe's at least once a week and that's Griswold's fault, because he's obsessed with their dried chicken breast treats, he could probably go through an entire pack a night if I let him. He has no idea how spoiled he is. I also usually buy my weekly fresh flowers there, they're cheaper than Whole Foods or Kroger's flowers. I don't usually buy produce or fresh meat from Trader Joe's I find it to be kind of over priced, unless it's like chicken sausage, they have a great apple chicken sausage that I like. I mostly am there for their seasonal items, sometimes their cheese, snacks and frozen items. You'd like it, they have a lot of gluten free items.

I honestly couldn't even tell you which sauce I prefer because while I know there are a few that I like, I've been there so few times that I just don't know what it is...so I always ask for multiple sauces. I don't eat fast food a ton, but when I do, if I have to choose I'm going burger and I'm going with Culver's, they're my favorite. But my favorite burger is an olive burger that the bar in my small little beach town up north has. It is so messy and so delicious.

That'll be a fun day trip! And a train trip even more fun.

90 today 60's tomorrow, I'm wearing my first sweater of the fall and I'm excited. Though I have no idea what my office is going to feel like, they turn the heat on as of October 1st so I probably shouldn't wear a sweater...I'm going to be sweating all day.

I've floated the idea of an early December trip to Austin to a few friends...this has been unsuccessful in the past but we'll see if any of them bite this time.

Yes! Do that!! Maybe you'll be asking early enough that no one is overwhelmed with the idea of the holidays yet.

I'll get a few, "yeah that sounds like fun" and then no follow up. Though I would totally just fly down Thursday, get an Airbnb, go to the event and then have them fly down Friday and we can have the weekend in Austin. They don't have to come to the event if they're not interested. I'll just go.

Though I do have one friend who genuinely would want to go, she did missionary work in South Africa and has seen ACChoir perform before in Nashville. She'd be all about it, she just has a job that rules her life so I don't know if she'd be able to get away.

I need to sleep because I'm about to be woken up by some giant storms in about an hour or two with this cold front moving through but of course, wide awake and will be again shortly.

One of my friends that can't go because her job rules her life is threatening to quit, so we'll see if she does before that event. Like I said, dipping into tier two of friends I like to travel with for this one now.

I love Trader Joes!

Currently watching the movie Mothers and Daughters. Paul Wesley is in it. Snoozefest. It's got a huge cast though. We really don't see enough of Christina Ricci. I know Selma Blair has MS but I don't know what's going on with that. Is she not doing well? Courtney Cox has had way too much work done. She looks ridiculous.

That will be a fun day K! Enjoy.

The museum was really nice! Baby minion and I got on the wrong bus and got lost! We figured it out, got back to campus, and took the right one! It was scary for a minute there though.

Rule of thumb should always be, if you know you have someone coming to the house to do an estimate on some work that you know isn't going to be cheap, don't go shoe shopping prior to getting that estimate.

I've needed some brick work done on the house, new porch, probably a new chimney for the wood fireplace, I know there are some bricks around the house that need replacing too...I did not predict that it would be a $10,000 estimate...home ownership, maybe not worth it.

I will now ignore this estimate entirely and act like it never happened so I don't have to think about the money I need to be saving and instead sit here and maybe binge FNL all night because Minka's post and the reminder that it's been 13 years has gotten me in the mood to watch it and watch it all.

This seems reasonable for the moment.

I watched one episode of FNL and then moved into this series on Netflix called The Five really only because I saw that one of the actors from the Handmaids Tale is in it.

I think I'm all caught up. I've just been reading the other thread.

Well, no surprise but the weather here has been pretty rubbish for a few weeks now. It feels like it has rained constantly for about a month! It rained almost the entire time we were in liverpool last weekend. It was still a good weekend, good to see everyone. Some of those girls I've known since I was 3!

The Five is good. I watched it when it first came out a few years ago. Yeah Luke, June's husband, is in it. He's British.

I've never seen a single episode of Downton Abbey. It's just not my thing.

I finished watching Community earlier this week. The last season wasn't great. . . And I was totally disappointed with the ending! I still loved it on the whole though.

I started Watching Parks and Rec today. I watched a few episodes last year and gave up, but I know it will be worth sticking with! I'm also still going with 13 Reasons and am totally looking forward to Riverdale coming back next week!

I've not heard of the Masked Singer, but it sounds intriguing.

Sorry I've been away for so long. It's just pretty difficult being a Taylor fan based in the UK! Seriously though, I have been pretty busy, but I've missed you girls!

Is Lornette still about?

SouthernSweetieTX 10-06-2019 06:40 PM

She lives! Hahaha!
Aside from the rain, it sounds like you enjoyed your trip! Yay!
Downton Abbey is great! But I love that type of thing.
Lornette joined us for our rewatch on Wednesday. :)

I made a goal on Friday night to not leave my pjs all day Saturday or Sunday and, my friends, I did it! And it was glorious! :) We got a lot of boxes unboxed and several I just don’t have room for moved to the garage for safe keeping. Next weekend it should be a high of 71 on Saturday!! We are going to Fright Night at Six Flags in San Antonio! I am so ready for this weather!

I finally burned a fall scented candle today. I just hadn’t been able to bring myself to do it. I mean, it’s going to be 96 on Thursday. I digress. The cold front is coming and I am excited!
I can wear a shirt with sleeves!

Baby Minion doesn’t have school tomorrow, so it’s like a bonus day for me. I can drop OM off at the train and then come home and work on work. I spent a few hours Friday trying to make my booking system and CC processing play nicely. I was not successful. I’m back at it tomorrow and I will be victorious!

worthyoflove 10-06-2019 08:27 PM

Lornette does pop in, I think busy with work but she did join us for some of the rewatch last week and said she'd be here this week.

I'm not even sure I finished the last season of Community. When some of the main characters left it just wasn't the same and it did get kind of...weird. I still love those first seasons though, they're so good. Parks and Rec gets better as it goes along for sure.

I too burned candles today! Not the fall ones but candles all the same. I love the Havana scent from Bath and Body Works. But it was actually really beautiful here today, high 60's and sunny. I opened all the windows to get some fresh/not humid air in the house and did a ton of cleaning.

I finished The Five and really liked it, I forgot that Harlan Coban's books and his other series on Netflix, Safe, are so all over the place...not necessarily in a bad way, but that there's just a lot of stuff going on aside from the main plot points. Just so much happens in a short 10 episodes.

I guess I'm on a BBC kick because I started Retribution on Netflix next, mostly because the father of the girl caught my attention because he was in The Fall, and then I couldn't place one of the male characters until I realized it was Gendry from Game of Thrones. He's kind of cute actually.
