I started watching this again on Netflix. I haven't made it all the way through yet but I've never been a huge fan of this film. There isn't enough Taylor and the Michael Keaton character is so unlikeable. The film isn't horrible but not my favorite of Taylor's projects.

I will hold on to the idea that Taylor's character was far more interesting than Mitch, or at least as equally interesting. I cared more about the background between Ghost and Hurley.

Oh, I just posted about Blake (Lively)'s new movie in the Savages thread, and I forgot to mention that it reminded me of a female version of this movie, with Blake in the Mitch role. She's avenging the murder of her family. There are lots of foreign locales. Jude Law plays the Michael Keaton role of the ornery, grizzled trainer (and there's a cabin scene that even felt lifted from AA). And also like AA, the movie feels like they were hoping to make it a franchise. Unfortunately, it's also kind of a mess like AA.

It's always interesting to see how interest spikes for certain projects when they're up on Netflix. Consensus seems to be Taylor needs to play more villains.

He was my favorite thing about this film. I was interested because I like Dylan but something about Mitch's story did not click.
