Most of us became aware of Kristen Stewart when she starred in the Twilight movies, whether we watched them or not (I did not watch them, but I’m aware of them because they were so popular). I didn’t pay much attention to Stewart until I saw Equals at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2015. Around that same time, Stewart appeared in several roles with equally gripping performances: Still Alice, Personal Shopper, and Clouds of Sils Maria. Stewart is one of those actors where, when I’m watching her, I can’t look away, despite feeling uncomfortable while watching her. She seems so raw, so vulnerable, like she’s not really acting. It’s mesmerizing.
