LOL it's time we bump this thread. Here is the info on the book from the authors who wrote it

C: The novel is Ashley’s diary where she has documented her thoughts and feelings on the things that took place during the first season and part of the second season on The Secret Life of the American Teenager – which is finding out her older sister Amy is pregnant at 15 and dealing with her parents’ marriage being in trouble at the same time. As fans of SLAT already know, Ashley is very outspoken and even more so in the book. There’s also insights and background on the characters that weren’t onscreen that fans will find out that they didn’t know before.

K: The novel is Ashley’s perspective on all the chaos going on around her. It was a lot of fun to write to her sarcastic humor, and hopefully the fans will like all the behind-the-scenes stuff we added.

I'm kind of annoyed by the fact of that diary. Ashley doesn't seem like a person who'd let it all out in a diary

^- LOL you are so right! But the writers got away with it because it was a school project. I am disappointed that it was assignmed by the principal though when it should've been the guidence counselor. I'm not even gonna waste my time with this one.

It does seem a bit out of character Ness I can't disagree with you

Maybe it won't bomb, who knows. Plus, I wonder if this book is supposed to be "canon" to the show. I guess it is but you never know.

Thus her saying the reason why she even started writing one was due to the fact of her principle and having a problem with the way she dressed causing them to get into a convo about other things leading the principle to make Ashley write a diary and give it to her at the end of every month and be informed that she starts writing it before she goes to highs chool with Amy. She starts it the year Amy got pregnant but before finding out about Amy's pregnancy. Also she explains how she felt journals were worthless and stupid.

How I know this I read the sneak posted by Abcfamily.

I think it comes out the same date as the volume 4 DVD, which is June 16th I think

wow, it's been a while since i've posted.

more reasons we love ashley... (going back to old times)

Because customers in her dad's store heard she was having sex, but how would they know?
Because the only person who would know is her...and her lover.
Because then she'll just be a teenage-mother-enabler.
Because she's fine with people knowing that Amy's pregnant, and that her father's having an affair, but what she can't stand is people knowing they're poor. That is the ultimate humiliation!
Because she may be late for school, but at least she won't be late for her period.
Because she has internet access and a pregnant sister. She knows where babies come from.
