I reckon so. Funnily enough Fringe was realistic in it's own way when dealing with the dynamic of the characters - they were like real people would be in the circumstances they found themselves in.

Especially with the photo's we have seen - the time he and Diane were walking in the street (they both had a cigarette in their hands) and the time Josh was leaning against the wall with a cigarette in his hand looking at his phone (horrible unhealthy habit - especially for an asthmatic )

Yeah, I hope it's not a daily thing and if he has to smoke that it is just a casual thing. I didn't like that they had him smoking on The Affair. I wish they wouldn't put smoking on television anymore.

Well I think it was just to show the sort of person Cole is, along with showing him and his brothers sitting round drinking beer. Dealing cocaine isn't very healthy either - especially if you p*** the suppliers off! Maybe he smokes to keep the flies away - they are particularly bad round horses especially in summer, hence lots of horsey people smoke.

The photograhs taken at Christmas at his Topanga home showed him smoking as well. He had a cigarette in his hand while posing with a young woman. I don't think he was keeping flies away in that one.

Well I was talking about his character, not Josh. I meant that the show-runners must have put that in the scene to show what sort of guy Cole is - I don't think Josh would have just lit up on set without it being in the script.

As a crazy online stalker I saw on that girl's instagram (recently made private!) That she had a picture of Diane with a cigarette in her mouth taken a couple of weeks ago in London. There was also an excited tweet from a girl who saw Josh buying cigarettes but the tweet then disappeared. Some image control going on maybe? So their attempts to give up failed - it happens, sadly
