Yeah, at first look it seems like a regular love song but I think especially the line "to anyone who's listening" indicates that it is indeed a song for fans and all the people who support him. It's a perfect song to start the album, to tell who he is and where he stands and to begin his journey into the unknown, which I think superstardom still is for him. Lines like "as I stand alone against the world" and "will I ever be enough" are quite touching, and I hope he knows we believe in him. I'm sure he does.

Completely agree with this. He shows that he's ready for what's coming and he knows there is someone (and I think that someone are his many fans) there to go with him.

It can be but I honestly think it's for everyone who's there with him, from family to fans, gf to friends. It can go both ways, for sure. But the part "to anyone whose listening" makes me think it's for more people. But double meaning is totally Cook's style And yes, these are his lyrics, no doubt.
