So, how did she die & return? Was it the same way?

Butterfly85 05-07-2022 08:08 PM

I only remember Dixie died offscreen in a car accident in 2002, then they had someone called Di show up saying she is Dixie, but it turns out she wasn't. Then the real Dixie came back and she ate poison pancakes. Then I think Dixie was a ghost for a little bit too, then according to people here her stalker David saved her later. If they are going to bring people back, stop showing them as ghosts RME.

IIRC, the only reason they didn't end it with Gillian and Ryan and Greenlee with Leo was because they thought Cameron and Rebecca would be going to the online version, which they never ended up doing anyway.

Jesse was not only a ghost with Gillian but he followed Tad around for months even after Gillian was gone. Tad also saw Jesse in Heaven during the original Tornado story lol. Then he saw Dixie as a ghost multiple times. Tad sees a lot of dead people that end up alive.

Another Esta interview....

It's a shame that doomed online version ruined what could of been great endings with closure for many characters. Yeah, having all these characters as ghosts only to have them show back up as flesh and blood people will always be one of the major problems when they bring people back. They do that with Jesse and Dixie, but not Gillian SMH.

canflam 05-08-2022 08:46 PM

You think it was doomed from the start? That's too bad.

The online version I think was doomed because they didn't have enough money. Also, streaming services were so new. I think if it had been a few years later after Netflix blew up, it would've had a better chance.

I also think the prinetime Pine Valley reboot is dead in the water. It's been almost 2 years since it was announced and there's been no casting news at all.

canflam 05-10-2022 08:28 PM

That could be due to this pandemic going on.

Butterfly85 05-10-2022 08:36 PM

I agree, besides the money problems I also remember PP lying all the time about why they did things. Like the episodes going from every day to every other day cause they were broke. I also remember at the time some people still said they didn't get paid after the shows were cancelled. I wonder if they still to this day never got paid by PP? I wasn't watching the episodes, but I was hearing about what was going on at the time. I also never believed that reboot would happen either, most people just don't care about soaps anymore.

canflam 05-11-2022 04:34 PM

I suppose, though if ''All My Children'' or ''Port Charles'' returned to airing on T.V. I'd likely check them out & hope that others would.

Oooooo that's a big one! I'll be at work but I'm going to try and watch it live because I don't want there to be no one asking her questions. I have to think of some.

That's odd. Who gave her poisoned pancakes?

Butterfly85 05-16-2022 11:26 PM

I wasn't watching at the time, just heard about it. I think it was some serial killer, but I'm not completely sure.

I watched his live interview today with Taylor Miller, who played Nina in the 80s. I wasnt alive when she was on, but I've watched Cliff and Nina on YouTube. It made me really excited for Esta's interview. Even though he wasn't an AMC watcher, he does his research and asks really good questions. Also, he gets a big crowd! There were almost a 100 people watching it live. I hope Esta gets as big of a crowd.

kayrey 05-20-2022 11:58 PM

Bummed I missed watching that live but looks like I've got some stuff to catch up on. Nice to see her get a Locher Room interview. Thanks for the updates. :)

BaileyQ 05-22-2022 06:18 PM

I was a little sad she didn't have as big of a turnout as Taylor Miller did. About 40 people watched live, but almost 800 have watched since then, so im not going to complain.

canflam 05-22-2022 06:33 PM

It needed to be promoted longer. Like a month or 2 in advance if possible.

BaileyQ 05-23-2022 07:32 PM

Yea it was only announced on Monday and then the interview was on Friday, so less than a week.

canflam 06-02-2022 04:11 PM

Thanks. That's certainly a short amount of time.

tslpsh 06-04-2022 10:57 AM

24 years ago today...

I always liked how Esta spoke in her native language when Gillian was suppose to speak Hungarian. The look on Ryan's face when he said he liked it

canflam 06-04-2022 01:42 PM

Sweet. Thanks for posting that video.

BaileyQ 06-04-2022 07:26 PM

Oooooo I love those scenes. The dress Gillian's wearing is fire :hotpinkie:

I can't believe it was 24 years ago

canflam 06-04-2022 07:31 PM

I did not know which year it was from.

BaileyQ 07-02-2022 07:49 PM

Bumping up the thread with a new/old picture
