Today is the 23rd anniversary of their first wedding (4/10/98), and the 20th anniversary of their second (4/10/01). Ryan and Gillian had decided for their second wedding, to get married on the third anniversary of their first.

Oh wow, I can't believe it's been that long for both weddings! That's another thing I miss about old school soap writing, they had amazing wedding ceremonies and theirs was no exception.

I can't find it, but one of my favorite pictures from their second wedding is them posing in front of the flower backdrop but Leo has jumped in lol.

So Cameron did a podcast and they talked some about Ryan and Gillian. Something new I learned was that they told Cameron before Esta that they were killing her off, and told him not to tell her anything. How awkward. And he said they kept her around as a ghost because the fans were so upset. He said it broke his heart that they killed her off and couldn't remember if she wanted to leave the show. He said he loves her dearly and wants to follow her on Instagram but can't find her anywhere. He was also confused as to why killed her off in such a way she couldn't come back.

I didn't know they told CM before they told Esta. Uh, if your going to kill someone's character off you should tell the person that plays them. It would just be the one of many disrespectful things they would do to certain actors. From what I remember, she wanted to leave to do work in Africa and I guess they killed her off so DRASTICALLY cause they were pissed and wanted to get back at her for it. They did Gillian so wrong the way they killed her off.

I'm about to listen to the podcast now.

It's so disgusting that they told Cameron first. It's also horrible that they killed her off in such a permanent way. I totally don't blame Esta for wanting to leave to try new things. Almost everyone in soaps takes a break at some point. Cameron even did for a year. Right before Esta left she came really close to getting a role as a Bond girl in one of Pierce Brosnan's Bond films. I think she wanted to try her hand in movies. Sadly that obviously didn't work out for her, which is another reason it sucks she could never come back as Gillian. Our only revenge is that none of Ryan's other pairings ever had the same spark or popularity he had with Gillian.

Esta does have an Instagram but she NEVER posts. I only know it's definitely hers because her boyfriend/maybe ex-boyfriend who's very active on Instagram once tagged her in a picture using that account. I need this girl to get more active on social media so I can like know she's alive.

Apparently Cam and Esta had a reunion recently? Not sure what brought this about, but pretty cool. Cameron said it was for a podcast in the comments? Hopefully we find out more in the future.

I'm just super impatient lol. Maybe since our last new interaction with them was ten years ago when Gillian made her ghost appearance as AMC was ending, so I'm just like where is this podcast? I wish he had given more details like what podcast.

I'm wondering the same thing. And how did this come about anyway? Although it's nice he was saying on that one podcast how he couldn't find her on social media, and looks like he found her in person, even better.
