They sure did I haven't seen a break up that mature in forever. It did however feel as though Ridge was only doing it out of some sense of guilt and as though he was handing Caroline off to Thomas.

Yup... I was just so shocked when Caroline didn't even lie to Ridge or anything.
 I was thinking if Ridge was hoping somewhere inside that Caroline would tell him he was wrong but instead she agreed with him....I actually felt a bit bad for him however, I loveeeddd how the B&B writers handled their break up and though I never shipped them. It wasn't any cheating or anything, so perfectly done writers. |

The writing for that split was handled really well. Hopefully the proceeding storyline direction will be handled with as much care. I hope she doesn't just jump immediately on Thomas she needs to stay mum on her feelings and grieve letting go of her marriage before anything else happens.

I completely agree with you. I really won't like if she just jump to Thomas so quickly.
If the writers want more people to like this Thomas/Caroline relationship then there really will need to be some more build up. |

The best way forward that I see to make a slow build possible is Caroline stays quiet about the real reason why her and Ridge decided to split. So no telling about her newfound feelings toward Thomas and specifically have him be completely unaware of how she now sees him. We've already had a good start to Thomas being oblivious to the sudden change.

I agree. I think the thing that is pretty upsetting is that Thomas/Caroline had a great start and then of course the writers had to make them sleep together in a way that was horrible for the viewers.
 So, now some fans won't ship them because of that... all the writers fault. |

So I've been re-watching when Thomas found out about the pregnancy and you were so right that Caroline seemed relieved but also hurt by just how much relief he expressed over the lie she told him.

Another wasted talent that was shoved out the door with no resolution to her story. Seems to be the normal to expect nowadays when many exit the show.

Caroline/Ridge split up was just irrelevant even if I wasn't the biggest shipper. At least Ridge really did love Caroline and didn't cheat on her like a week with he's doing with Brooke right now.

^ It really was irrelevant and seems to have only happened to free up Ridge while getting rid of Caroline.
