Yeah. I don't think it happens a lot in YA? I know in the Cinder series, but all the characters connect and make appearances, so maybe that doesn't count.

I wonder since it's different characters if book 2 happens after the events in book 1.

Wicked Lovely kinda was like that, but the characters connected to one another, and book 1 and 3 were the same characters and in book 5 had them all.

We're getting a novella of Lilac and Tarver in Dec.

Going by some reviews I have read, I do believe it takes place after the first book, and I think you might get mentions of them.
Someone said that These Broken Stars wraps up Tarver and Lilac's story and that she doesn't think there is much more you could do for their story.
Maybe the novella will wrap it even more and we'd like to see someone else's love story?

Going by GR, a lot of people wanted more of Tarver and Lilac and were disappointed this book will be another couple.

It did feel like a good ending for them, but also I felt like there were more things they could explore and open more storylines.

Yeah. I think there was more in terms of earth they could explore.. maybe not so much them in particular, but the world-building. I was pretty happy how they turned out.

Amie is doing a signing in Melbourne for the release of the 2nd book and I was so dead set on going, but then yesterday I got a shift for work on the same night so now I have a delimma. Cancel the shift and go to the signing, or not go to the signing again (couldn't go last year because of work) and go to work..

Good point. Yeah, I probably could not go and just buy a signed copy of the 2nd book like I did with These Broken Stars. One of the authors and the one coming IS Australian and she could come back for the 3rd book, which I pray does not be on the same day next year

I decided to finally read This Shattered World, I know it only just came out in the US this week, but i've had it since last month because of the signing Amie did here which was used as the launch for the book.

April, do you remember if the planet from the first book was called Avon?
