 Fair enough.Here is my very short review. I didn't want to write a dissertation on everything single thing that related to Clueless. I bought this paperback back in 2008 when there were still Borders bookstores! I finally read it for a book club. I did a lot of Clueless comparisons. Most of my notes point out all the similarities. I feel that if I had not seen Clueless a million times and loved Cher then I would have been supper annoyed by Emma. Cher was "clueless" and meant well. Emma came off as really manipulative, but seeing Emma as Cher, she is not as dislikable as she would have been without the lens of the movie. But I do think had I never seen Clueless I would still have enjoyed Emma and thought it was funny. There were quite a few scenes that made me laugh. This is one of my favorite quotes: "Human nature is so well disposed towards those who are in interesting situations, that a young person, who either marries or dies, is sure of being kindly spoken of." So romantic: "If I loved you less, I might be able to talk about it more." 4 out of 5 Botticelli Chics. |
