I think it could be really fun
Also, I should've added 'best read' which wouldn't be limited to a 2011 release but was read this year __________________

Urgh, this is the third time I'm trying to post here, FF does not like me at all these days
Anyways awesome idea, but umm can I as what the difference between fantasy and urban fantasy is? Maybe to top it off we could add a category for 'most anticipating in 2012? __________________

Fantasy can be an umbrella term which contains anything with fantastical elements at all, but the fantasy genre is less inclusive.
Fantasy - imagine Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, Narnia. Gets tricky with Harry Potter, but that's ultimately fantasy. Typically in a different universe than earth Urban Fantasy - Can have magical properties but ultimately is grounded in a modern setting and this universe. Kate Daniels, most vampire books, Cassandra Clare books would fit here. Not Fantasy - Twilight, Immortals series, pretty much anything that focuses more on a romance, also if magic/fantastical elements are only sprinkled in--those would be paranormal romance at most. __________________

From googling it, it seems like most people would say Fantasy usually is something in the past. I would say I imagine LotR would of been many years ago. Urban fantasy is more modern.
I also tend to think of UF as more of the adult books and a little darker than YA. Me personally I don't think I would category really any YA books as UF. __________________
