About the prologue: From the get go it grabbed my attention. First that it was in first person, which is different from the Luxe series, and that it revealed that one of the girls was going to end up dead. The book sounds awesome.

I was really shocked by the prologue that one of the girls dies. Do you think Anna did that so were prepared for when it happens unlike with the Luxe ending when a lot of people were upset Henry didn't end up woth Diana? I'm on chapter 12 now and I really like Astrid. She's just such a fun character! I hope she doesn't die. I like the other girls too but Astrid is my fav. I don't want to ruin anything for you but I will say right now Cordelia's storyline is really dominate. I think over time each with girl will get her chance to shine though!

I'm almost positive that when she wrote some one dies they really do die. One of the girls will be famous, one will be married and one will be dead by the end of the summer of 1929. I like Astrid so I'm afraid she will be the one that dies.

I hadn't considered that Anna wrote that so that we'd expect it when it happened. That's a good question though. I was thinking more along the lines that this series seemed to have more of a mystery feel to it than the Luxe with Astrid's secrets and Cordelia's father being in the bootlegging business, hence the foreshadowing in the prologue. But at least we have advanced notice now, in case we like all the characters. It's a risky move killing one of her lead characters.

I can't wait to read it!

Right now I have no idea who will die! At first I was thinking Astrid or Letty because Cordelia's storyline seems to be more important, but now I'm not so sure. Does any think that the "married" one related to Cordelia, since she already is?

If I was going to guess right now I'd say that Letty will be famous (since she's the only character who seems to really want it), Astrid will be married, and Cordelia will die. Cordelia is my favorite though, so I hope I'm wrong.
