Yeah Doc didn't surprise me either, I havn't trusted him ever. None of those twists really shocked me, and to be honest most of the twists in the book didn't spin my head, but I still enjoyed them. The only one that really got me was the truth about Centuari Earth.

I'm with you on Amy/Elder. I didn't really feel them that much, though more than I had in the first book so maybe there is hope. I think she did begin to realize that her feelings for him were her choice after she nearly lost him. I'm not sure I can see them working out though in the end because they have totally different agendas when it comes to going to the planet and unfreezing Orion. Elder still feels something for Orion and Amy is deeply frightened of him. I don't blame her there.

In the first book, I got the impression that Amy disclosed that part of her past to the reader as a way to say how depressed she was at that point in her life. She didn't really care that Jason was cheating on her and she still slept with him all because she felt like her work was coming to an end what with going onto Godspeed in the next few days. She just wanted to have a perfect memory of her boyfriend without the complications of what was really going on.

I did enjoy Amy/Elder in book 1, but I wouldn't say I would overly ship them. He was nice for her when she had nobody else.

That's how I was about them in the first book. I wouldn't be dissapointed though if they didn't end up together though to be honest.

I'm more of all interested in her relationship with her parents, since they were the reason she went with them.

I want to know about that extra year. When Amy was being frozen she heard the men talking about how the delayed the launch by a year but they kept the freezing people schedule. I feel like that should of been important. Or if it's nothing I don't think it should of been brought up.

This is the new cover for SHADES of EARTH.

It will come out in this cover and not the original.

I do like how on the covers it has something important to the book.. like for ATU I guess that's meant to be the ship? Or a door in the ship.
For AMS is the doorway to the outside and shades of Earth, looks like what Centuri Earth will look like.
