That's mean of him, but I can understand why he did it. He loved her since they were kids, he finally had her back (well he couldn't touch her, but he had her). He already had lost her once, I can understand why he wouldn't have wanted to risk losing her again. Plus he also didn't want the Aunts freaking out, or the knowledge of his gift getting out which is also understandable. So I think it was mean, but understandable.

I agree
 I'm glad he confessed and he was comfortable enough later to tell her. He was a lonely pie maker  and she was probably the best thing happened to him so I understand. I wonder if it would last if the show wasn't canceled tho.__________________

Possibly, I have no idea... It would depend on how the aunts reacted I think, then how much they wanted Ned & Chuck to remain together, & how much time Chuck wanted to spend with her aunt/mother instead of Ned. But I don't think they would have been like Chuck's father & try & split them up
... Wish we could have found out though  __________________
